I voted for STL. Dude puts in a lot of time to make the recruit profiles and bring good info from other sites to IE. It may seem easy to cut and paste Ht/Wt/40s/offers/etc....but it really is time consuming. His efforts with the Master Lists are very well done and to be able to keep up with all the offers is extremely time consuming and enough to drive you up the wall. He does it all for IE. He is a machine. Good to have him on IE.

I can attest to that. I used to spend a lot of hours creating profiles and even more updating the orphans that other created. ThePolishIrishman spent a lot of hours before me doing the same.

See above for why IM8 was deservedly in the lead. He put things back in perspective quite nicely.

I agree with LA that mods should be excluded from this. We naturally post a lot more than others, so we have an unfair advantage.

If LAX and I are removed, can those who voted for us reselect?

I believe those that voted for those subsequently taken out of a poll have their vote returned to them.

Removed myself. I think Ironman got at kind of the core of the issue in a roundabout way... it's member of the year. Mods are more visible and by proxy garner a disproportionate amount of the vote by default.

We have a Mod of the Year category, so I think we should all be excluded from this award.

He was Justin Beiber when he first joined. Now? Dude is a great member and does lots of work starting threads, posting updates, and bringing us info.

Rhode thinks "somebody" will do it if he (and others) don't. Really? Then why are basically pandafan and berry the only guys who update press conferences? Why are most recruit threads started by STL, GITF, or IM8? Why do only certain guys give updates regarding premium info out there on pay sites...despite the fact that many others have subscriptions? These guys actually do the work...and I'm thankful they do. Many other posters "could" do all the work these guys do, but we don't. Taking the time out to post means a lot to us.

And yet when someone says "Nice job TP" you get all pissed...why??? Again, even a mod had to tell you to chill when you took shots at a member needlessly. You've missed the entire point...Lax wanted to stir things up and also wanted to know why you had only one vote despite all you did for the site this year, and I gave him a possible explanation. A "Member of the Year" IMO wouldn't rip other members for no reason, and wouldn't get into petty spats with them as you did quite often in the early/mid part of the year. I included myself into a group of posters that don't deserve any accolades because of it, and I was perhaps the worst offender after that crap with bogs. I have no problem in the mirror and acknowledging my many mistakes/faults; I realize not everyone will do that though.

Rhode said that because someone always has done that. This site has been around a long time...STL isn't the first, nor will he be the last, as when he hits college and has tons of extra work and more things to do that take up his time, he'll eventually have to stop, and someone else will pick up the slack.

Go look at old player threads. It's crazy how many different people have taken the reigns over the years. Guys take over for awhile, get all into it, and then other things come up and someone else takes over. Check it out; in the following years, these are the members who did most of the recruiting profiles:

2007: Jason Pham and Irish Envy
2008: Pham, GoshenGipper, IrishUncleBill
2009: Pham, Gipper, Epitome, SoCalDomer
2010: jasonh, SoCalDomer, myself, host of others
2011: BGIF, jasonh, TPI
2012: Ironman, BGIF, GITF, all kinds of others
2013: Ironman, GITF, beryIrish, etc

As you can see, someone always picks up the slack. I forget who started the idea for a master list (jasonh did an awesome one for 2011, and I know GB did a great job in 2012), but that will live on as well.

Now, that's not to say STL didn't put in a ton of work and doesn't deserve all the credit in the world. I've done player profiles and it takes a lot time to do and the upkeep on the master threads is insane. Good on him for that. But to Rhode's point, he's absolutely right. Someone else will eventually be doing it, and hopefully as well or nearly as well as his predecessors.

Whenever TP gives some info and his right inevitably, you or one of his other "friends" rush here to dig up the post say look TPs right, he's legit. We know. It's annoying after a while. That's my problem

I also don't get why you feel you know me so well and tell me who I have a problem with and who I don't and feel such a need point out that I am apparently not as good a member as others. I don't think I should be member of the year but your need to run a smear campaign where no one else has been putting down others accomplishments before you started I found just wierd.

2. Read Lax's original post in full. Then I look forward to your post admonishing him about being the first one to change the tone of this thread by downgrading the work of another poster and then asking us if we were entertained. Oh, and don't forget to tell him it's 'weird'.

3. Smear campaign? For real? If it was a smear campaign I would have told you what I really feel, and what a few other prominent posters really feel. And I wouldn't have complimented the work you've done here at all nor the apparent change in character. Bottom line, Lax asked a question, and I gave a possible explanation, steeped in truth. Instead of simply saying, "yeah my bad, I don't do that anymore though" or whatever, you chose a different path.

And btw, ask anyone on this site who knows me, I freely admit my epic mistakes on this site. No hiding behind anything, I've fucked up a ton, some justified, some not. All part of living...

I was going to vote for STLDomer myself, but then I remembered that he is a Blues fan who hates Patrick Kane. Slu, do you also hate AMERICA?? I mean, Kaner is no T.J. Oshie ... he's just the best American winger since Brett Hull (yes, I went there).

Lol. Seriously, Slu and Lucci do amazing work bringing info to the board. Slu in particular deserves to be commended for doing it systematically and comprehensively so that we can get a clear picture of ND recruiting (and even national recruiting) just by reading this site, without having to go to outside sources. Very deserving MOY IMO, as are so many of the great posters on this site.
