I didn't say I'm bummed that he's not going to ND. I'm saying Michigan is knocking it out of the park with elite guys.

Per a lot of people, we would've landed him if we offered. I don't know why we didn't... maybe too short or CB isn't a priority... Loy expects us to offer down the road and for him to flip, but I don't know if I buy that at all.

Per one person, Tom Loy, and I don't know how connected or reliable that guy actually is. If it was coming from Steve Witflong, that'd be another thing. Crawford grew up a pretty big Michigan fan, Michigan had an edge from the get go because of that.

He's about 5'9, which is pretty short for CB, but he's got 2 years to grow and he's a extremely fast, he's a legitimate 10.5 in the 100m as a sophomore.

He's neither grown up nor big. Your point is invalid.

@Sully1921 I predicted him to Michigan now, but left my crystal ball as Notre Dame because I think that's where he ends up if offered.

I really get under a lot of mods skin. Not as bad as Farrell though, I am afraid he will kidnap my first born

Even so, why not offer him if he's that much of an athlete, and tell him he's not the #1, AKA non-commitable. At least get our foot in the door...

I've watched Shaun up close and my brother is his offensive coordinator at Eds. He is a very good athlete that I think would be best suited on the offensive side of the ball. He's very explosive. On defense, he's not afraid to make the tackle and stick his nose in with the big boys. He is a smaller kid so I can see why they may not have offered him on the defensive side of the ball. He reminds me of Dontre Wilson from OSU.

semantics but darby was 5'11 which is the same height as Keviaree russell. 5'11 can easily play cover 2 and come up and tackle while 5'9 is usually a cover corner

Diaco philosophy: only offer guys if there is a dire need OR they fit your ideal prototypical fit.
New philosophy: cast a bigger net of prospects who are just talented football players.

There is no reason we shouldn't have offered Crawford earlier. And he'd be committed to ND if we did. This is basically Sam Hubbard but at a skill position instead of big skill. Hopefully we're not way too late on this one.

He says this won't change is recruitment

Honestly, to me, seems like Crawford just giving the boiler plate. I wouldn't read anything into quotes until he gives more details and/or sets up summer visits or OVs. The actual question he was asked was... and this is lost a bit in the translation/brief post by the Michigan guy... "does the Notre Dame offer change the status of your recruitment?" and he said "no" and that he was still committed to Michigan. I wouldn't expect him to give any other answer really.

Also, as bad you think Loy is with being a homer, Lorenz is even worse. Many, many times worse. So I think we need to let this play out to see where it heads for us to really have any idea whether ND or OSU have a shot.
