This kid is Gilyard version 2.0. We def need him. TJ showed some of the possibility of using a dynamic mismatch. This kid is a day one game breaker if his body can hang.

I thought Davonte Neal would be Gilyard 2.0 for ND... so don't you put that evil on Isaiah!

Depends on where you look. Loy is saying something completely different than everybody else. Lax has explained this pretty well over the last week. Getting him to sign on NSD and getting him admitted are two different things. ISD and II are reporting that McKenzie is still going to have work to do to gain admission into ND, which makes sense. I see it as, he's done enough work where the staff is comfortable taking his verbal and letting him sign on NSD. However, he'll have to continue to make progress throughout the rest of his school year. I think that now that he's blown up, that may not be an enticing option for him anymore.

Eating and typing at the same time is definitely a recipe for getting beat on a post, haha.

My understanding is that it's this. He hasn't qualified yet but he has improved enough that everyone agrees that it would be a surprise if he didn't qualify at this point. I take that to mean, he just needs to get decent grades for one more semester and then he'll have brought up his averages enough to qualify. The only way we get into trouble is if he falls back into old habits, stops doing his work and completely bombs his last grading period or two.

Alford will visit him this week and may spend a day with him. Could get a Pot of Gold soon.

Alford said he actually has a pretty nice little Saturday planned with Isaiah, they're going to go to Home Depot,, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, he doesn't know, if they will have enough time....

You chopped that quote. It's the home depot he doesn't know if he'll have time for, lol.

Your expertise on movie quotes is second only to your amazing eye for talent, schemes, and strength and conditioning programs.

Heard on Power Hour that he's no longer a lock if the test scores are good enough. Anyone hear anything?

Looks like you're late to the party my friend.

He's set up OVs to Florida and Ole Miss so this weekend and the following weekend, respectively.

Things appear to be turning away from ND, but he did tell Rebels247 online a few days ago that he "was really close to going ahead and committing to Notre Dame, but he decided that he needed to take a look at a few other places and be sure.”

I was feeling he was trending away as well. But doesn't the bolded statement mean he is still favoring ND but wants to make sure before he commits? This, to me, seems to be a positive statement unless it has been taken out of context.

Quick note, ESPN bumped him up to a 4 star and cracked ESPN 300 at 286th I believe. Scout also bumped him from #79 to #39 RB, still a three star though.

Whole thing is a circus. All I'll say is that there are reasons why ND basically stopped recruiting him at one point and he didn't even receive a Pot of Gold... and they don't all have to do with academics. This is a Tee Shephard-esque soap opera with its twists and turns. There is no doubt that the staff right now really wants him to be part of this class now, but they have an uphill battle at best.

We'll have to see how the Alford visit plays out. I wouldn't be surprised to see McKenzie pull the trigger for Florida or Ole Miss or Oregon or whoever... Just my opinion.

And he's #150 overall on 247 (which I think was already posted earlier in this thread).

this is what espn had to say...although they are always weeks behind: Once thought to be a Notre Dame lock, the recruitment of McKenzie has taken more of an SEC turn since late December. The sensational punt returner and slot receiver now has official visits scheduled to Florida on Jan. 17 and Ole Miss on Jan. 24, with the Gators trending in a bigway. The Fighting Irish and Oregon remain in the mix. according to espn..they believe he is a gator
