That conference is not going to be that hard to win. It should do pretty well.

It means you are setup to fail. Which doesn't translate into future opportunities. Besides Edsall name me one coach that went anywhere from there, and Edsall is a stretch.

They've only been a full-fledged Division I team since 2002. And Edsall was coach until 2010. Not sure that's much of a data set to work with.

There's some pretty silly logic here. A school doesn't really impact one's ability to succeed after they leave the school.

Connecticut has only been a FBS school for how long? 13 years? 15 years? Skip Holtz went on to coach a BCS conference team. Randy Edsall went on to coach a BCS conference team. Those two should count for something.

Sooo, 2/3 of their recent coaches went on to AQ jobs.

They've only been a D-1 program for just over a decade, Isaac Newton. And in that time they've managed to go to a Fiesta Bowl, win in South Bend, and spank South Carolina in a bowl game. They also beat RGIII and Baylor two years in a row a few years ago.

UMASS is a trainwreck. Molnar never had a chance.

He should however be able to win more than 2 games in 2 years, that's a bit ridiculous.

"War Judge Wapner, Dapper Dan Hair Products and Soft Shell Defenses"

I swear Rome’s only redeeming feature is he is like the only guy out there that will really talk hockey…

UConn: Sources tell us Notre Dame director of player development Ernest Jones will join Bob Diaco's staff as running backs coach and we also hear Notre Dame defensive grad assistant Josh Reardon will join UConn's staff as defensive backs coach.

If ND paid their graduate assistants more, they wouldn't leave to take position coaches at other programs.

Yep, re: Ernest Jones, seeing it here too:

I was really expecting him to fill the open spot on the offensive staff at ND. I wonder who Kelly is going with.

What? He has to hire someone, and he is giving guys that he worked with here who weren't full assistants chances to be part of a FBS staff. It is a big break for these guys, who were going to get hired somewhere if they were ever going to have careers in football. If you are going to get discouraged by our coordinators leaving for head coaching gigs and/or them taking lower level staff with them and promoting them, then you really shouldn't even be following this stuff. It is completely par for the course. We should be happy for these guys that they got a potentially big break.

I knew you'd be the first to comment Rhode. Let me go back and edit for Italics for those that can't sense sarcasm. I really liked Ernest Jones, but he has to take the next step for him, and regarding Reardon, I don't really know much about him. Carry on.
