These are the posts I was talking about from twitter. It's a convo between Jerry and some girl I am assuming from his high school. It doesn't appear that any of the other kids are on our recruiting radar so could it be a walk on or something?

looks like Coach Cooks was in Shreveport recently it is possible he saw another kid from the team. Could be anything from diamond in the rough stud to preferred walk-on to who knows.

Def. don't wanna burn any bridges with a long way to go in this kids recruitment.

in fairness you cant become the HC of Notre Dame (or Iowa, if Diaco has eyes on that someday) without being a HC somewhere. Its a move he needed to make. You can't begrudge him

I am sure someone from some other teams coaching staff will be talking to him immediately planting seeds of doubt questioning what in the world is going on at ND blah blah blah.

Good. Let all of the schools that have had the same exact staff together for three straight years go for it. They can tell him all about how ND is so terrible that everyone wants to hire our assistants to run their programs.

This isn't complicated. Imitation is the highest form of flattery. Good assistants becoming head coaches is the circle of life for coaching. I think it would take less than five minutes for a right-thinking person to explain to a smart 16 year old why this isn't only not a bad sign for the health of the ND football program, but a good sign for the health of the ND football program.
