He's a 5 star on 247 and a high 4 star, probable 5 star on rivals at a position where we're going to need help. I think there is a less than tiny chance he comes here, but it's worth a shot. I'd take him over the other guys on our board and not think twice.

IMHO, and putting aside issues of academics and attitude...
Passing on an excellent D-lineman is almost never a good idea. I would rather pass on pretty much any other position. High end D-Lineman are the rarest specimens. We play a 3-4, so I would not consider us overloadeded a that position until we had 12 on the roster.

You see what Nix, Tuitt & KLM are doing. This guy is rated as high or higher than those guys. Give this staff a chance with him and see what happens.

I just meant that you might pass on a D-Lineman who is interested if he were a headcase. I've heard nothing at all in regards to EV.

Vanderdoes did finally get a voice mail from Denbrock last night. Hasn't returned the call yet but intends to do so and see what ND has to say. per Hopkins of 247.
Game on? Maybe. Hopkins doesn't think he'll leave USC, but he is planning to take visits and had all 5 picked out before the Denbrock call. Maybe he'll give us one?

Said he'd call back and see what ND has to say. It isn't too late and even though he has his officials picked out, he would visit ND if he felt the need to do so.

Nothing new regarding ND ... Denbrock called Vanderdoes last night, Vanderdoes will return the call, might visit ND depending on what Denbrock has to say.
Took an official to UCLA, which exceeded his expectations (hosted by Marcus Rios). Has a visit to Cal scheduled. Also working on visiting LSU, Washington and USC.
He says he's firmly committed to USC, but UCLA is "up there." Makes me wonder if maybe he's not so firmly committed to USC ...

Interesting note on Vanderdoes is he plays baseball and is pretty darn good. Speculation and fun conversation is all it is on BGI but a few of the guys over there are bringing it up. We obviously have had a lot of success recruiting and provding athletes with the ability to play both football and baseball.

Yeah, I was just reading that thread and Sapp chimed in saying he heard on Lemming's show that Vanderdoes throws a 92 mph fastball and is a legit two-sport stud like Torii Hunter Jr. Crazy for a guy his size.

Right, or Bobby Jenks ... but that's not what I mean. My post wasn't clear, but, as Lucci pointed out, people are saying that he's not just a pitcher but a great everyday player as well. Can you imagine a 300 pound dude out there stealing bases? Again, not sure how reliable that is; that part came from posters, not staff. But that's the part that's crazy to me.
