I really hope we get him. I just watched the Nelson film (kid that's comparable in size to Mckenzie) came away thinking Mckenzie >>>>> Nelson.

And you all know my film reviews are flawless.

you could easily be talking about Tee Shephard there..

No.

Shephard had an NCAA Admissions problems two years ago. He's still does.

Two years later and he still can't get into any FBS school.

He's not late to the party.

I dunno... I see it more like Yeargin = Mario Williams >>>>>> all other recruits > McKenzie > Mauk > Kiel > Nelson.

Me thinks with all the recent attention Nelson has been receiving, there is definitely some stuff he isn't showing us on film. In other words, he's better than his film shows.

not trying to be a jerk, but it's going to be tough to take that test the day after a big game...had to do it twice in high school and it wasn't fun

Maybe he should go home now (now that the game is under control) to get a good nights' rest before his test tomorrow.

One of four things will happen:

1) His team wins but he suffers a victory hangover and doesn't do well on the test

2) His team wins and he uses his excitement (Non-sexual, just to be clear) and winning feeling and does well on the test

3) His team loses and he doesn't take it well and does poorly on the test

4) His team loses but makes him view football as a game and getting into ND will set him up for life, and does well on the test

#2 would probably be the best

Looking at twitter doesn't seem like he would leave his girlfriend to go all the way to SB or is she going to a Midwest school?

93 yds and it was his 5th for the season. Also scored a rushing touchdown in the 3rd. Michel 3 tds 48 - 16 Lake Wales strength was their defense this year, until they introduced to South Florida speed!

Test like a champion Today, McKenzie!

Yep.

Does anyone know how many times he's taken the ACT already? Is that what he's taking today?

I believe if you're a D1 scholarship type athlete, everytime you take the ACT you can 'save' your best score.

For instance, if you take it one day and score a 23 on math, 18 on reading, and a 20 in science, then take it again and score a 20 on math, 24 on reading, and 16 in science, your score would be math = 23, reading = 24, science = 20.

Is this true?

I belive that is true. I know it is true for SATs.

The process being described is called superscoring. As someone going through the application process right now, I know for a fact Notre Dame does not superscore the ACT. It does superscore the SAT though. Hope McKenzie can join the class!

EDIT: I'm not sure if they superscore the ACT for athletes, but I would assume they have the same policy as other applicants.

Sorry I'm busy and didn't look up what type of test he was taking, since ACT was the example used I just went with it.

I don't know for sure, but my educated guess is no. They maintain their course requirements for athletes, so I think they'd also maintain their policy on standardized tests. Of course the standards for admissions are laxed.

Really hope Isaiah can be Irish. Hes explosive!

Hmmm, ok. I'm going to look into it in a bit. Maybe every school is different, but my roommate at Marquette was able to do this for golf.

I suspect that is Admission's policy for regular students. I don't know that if there's leeway for athletes as they are in a different pool.

As an athlete you can get admitted to ND with an aggregate average of 17. As a regular student candidate you wouldn't wager an ND application fee on a 17.

In the decades I've followed recruiting I don't recall discussion on "superscoring"nor has the subject been mentioned in any discussions I've had with administration personnel over the years.
