Good. God.

Those runs...

@ 1:19, he throws a beautiful ball ~45 yards off his back foot.

Just so excited about this commitment. He's a great athlete and it's great to have a strong QB to build your class around. Having the QB position solidified for 2015 will make it that much easier to convince other 2015 recruits that the program is headed in the right direction.

wow.... thank you young man for pledging to Notre Dame. Welcome can't say it well enough. This is the best "whole of life" decision that you can make for your student+athlete career.

My reaction to what this does for our team's future must be intuitive, but man does this young fellow look like elite talent coming-to-be. AND, what an attractive anchor for the rest of the 2015 class. {With QB experts raving about him having "playing-on-Sunday" talent, plus Coach wanting to accept a year early, plus snowball added recruiting possibilities, isn't it bordering on the Twilight Zone that we have persons on IE whining about the commitment? }

As to the already-present or 2014-committed teammates that Blake would have in his following years: we are apparently [and this assessment though necessarily speculative until it rolls out on the field --- but a speculation with lots of evaluative data for it] LOADED at EVERY offensive talent group. OLine looks MONSTROUS. Receivers and Backs looks potentially exceptional. If our defense can keep pace with what the offense looks to become, ND is going to be a scheduling nightmare.

Unlike many here on IE, I look forward, very rationally given the data I have about Coach and our assembly line of studs, to elite Notre Dame football in the near future. Blake Barnett could be the key ingredient in that .... earlier if our wayward Everett gets his act totally together.

Jimmy was an amazing high school passer and in the Weiss system, a pro-style pocket passer was the prototype we looked for. Say what you will about Jimmy, he fit the Weiss system to a tee.

Barnett certainly has the look of a prototypical Kelly qb. He is Golson but taller and perhaps a more natural fit in a spread offense. Remember I said I was a bit more impressed by Clausen as a recruit...but Barnett is so young and could develop into an amazing qb. He is #1 on my list for '15 and locking him up early should pull other big-time recruits our way.

btw Did you see one of the tweets posted earlier where he lit a candle for a buddy while he was visiting this weekend, that makes me confident that he is all in.

Yea, pretty sure that he lit it for his teammate, Jordan Walker. He came in for a tackle in the 1st quarter and took a pretty nasty shot and was carried off the field on a stretcher...is listed in critical condition with a displaced vertebra, but a good sign is that he is breathing on his own now. Remains to be seen whether he has regained feeling in all his extremeties...prayers going out to him and his family.

Kid is going to be a straight up monster, ND just has to hold onto him. Lots of schools are going to come knocking

Good news is that sans coaching changes QBs have the highest retention rate of any position group.

Yeah, they had them in the bookstore's tent outside of the stadium before the game on Saturday. I almost grabbed one, but I bought my girlfriend a jacket instead. My wallet hates me after every trip to ND.

per the video above (just for clairification):

-he works out with Clarkson (not that other guy) once a week (Clarkson was Jimmys qb coach no?)
-Coach Elliot was his lead recruiter, not Denbrock

love this kid...lighting a candle in the grotto next trip into the bend that he sticks to his commitment. (and that kizer does as well)

Yes.Good catch. Rivals had Denbrock, too. Kudos to Elliot.

I love this kid already. For all our criticism, and I do it, too, Kelly and Company really seem to recruit high quality kids. Now if Longo can just get them in shape.

elliot has a previous relationship w/ his coaches...so i am guessing that is why he went in

I was thinking the same thing. That hoodie was tight.

My sons both have that hoodie. We got it at Bleacher Bums. Not sure if that is a regional or national chain, but they have all things college and pro

I've seen this only tangentially addressed here, but how big is his high school -- ie, are they in the top category by size or what? nd is their conference a high quality one?
