I'm guessing nothing but butthurt, but does anyone with $$$ access want to run it down for us?

Does anyone really care what he's "hearing" on McKenzie?

I really wish 247 would have him stick to UNC and find us a dedicated guy that is a) not a complete weirdo poof and b) not a attention hungry dude more concerned about himself than the team he reports on.

He is unprofessional and not very good at his job. I will not be clicking on his links, as that is contributing to his employment.

Loy twisting McKenzie's words to save face. Of course he hasn't called Alford yet since it was practically midnight before he was out of his game, but he's acting like there are some unresolved issues (which there aren't) because that's the story he ran with and wants it to be correct. Just such douchebaggery.

He ran hand timed 4.4s multiple times for the coaches at ND to get his offer in the first place. No, he does not have "elite" straight line burner speed. He has ridiculous agility/acceleration though. The comparison I keep going back to is Sproles... many people are shocked at how "slow" Sproles is, but he's also electric at the same time. Straight line speed only helps a player like this when they've already broken a big play and are trying to run away from the last line of defense to take it to the house. It's a bummer he doesn't have that but oh well... doesn't stop Sproles from being a dominant NFL caliber player.

For McKenzie, I actually don't know how much I see slot WR. I think he's a better fit as a APB type player playing mostly out of the backfield like Riddick last year. It seems like his value would be getting isolated on linebackers or checkdowns or the like to get easy chunks with high potential to make a guy miss and break a big play.

Can we get a "designated clicker" or two?

So the carpetbagger can follow his heart back to UNC.

Im not sure why everyone makes such a big deal about straight line speed anymore. We've seen with GA3 theres a lot more important things than that, kind of the same with Chris Brown. Its not something they get to use really often. Acceleration/agility/football speed is what you want

Is this where we are now? A world where 4.4 forties aren't considered elite? lol

I agree with you though, Lax. Sproles, and in turn, Woodhead, are great comparisons of IM's skillset. I hope our staff uses him in the same way. The way they utilized Riddick gives me hope that they wont try to simply put him in the Z and hope for the best. Giving him pitches out of the backfield, swing passes to the perimeter, etc are where IM will shine.

I have both Sproles and Woodhead on my fantasy team (baller-style), so I have watched them play a lot this season. There is a real misconception out there on how they are used. They aren't slot guys and they aren't true running backs. As weird as it sounds, the plays they are put in are ones that "put them in space, but in enough of a crowd to get lost in". If you watch their games they usually have picked up 3-4 yards before the play even seems to materialize. Then they have the ability to make people miss after that. With all of the complaints (justified) about many of our run plays taking too much time to develop, guys like Mckenzie are the answer. His skillset is simply awesome and quite unique.

He resembles austin alot. If he's half the player he was then this is a great pickup.

Not saying the situation itself isn't somewhat unique but, a couple of the pay sites have handles this poorly. Either way thrilled he's committed finally!

How come 247 doesn't list him as a commit yet?

b/c Loy is trying to get hits still

Because I called Loy out on being wrong so he is trying to save face. He ran an "update" this morning with warped/parsed quotes from McKenzie about calling Alford, etc. to try to justify his original bogus response. Likely came from a leading question like:
"Have you talked to Alford since you committed?"
"No" (obviously since his game ended at like midnight)
"So they haven't accepted your commitment yet? You still have to call them and make sure?"

It's just such a joke. I'm guessing they'll add him sometime between Sunday and Tuesday. And the 247 fanboys are blowing me up about it. It's hilarious. I was even mild with my comments originally to try to give Loy a bit of an out to correct himself. Some of them are so clueless. My "reputation" rating over there continues to take a dive... it's funny how whenever you say something that someone disagrees with, they'll passive aggressively down vote your rating or whatever. Stark contrast to over here where neg reps are earned hard, and positive reps only thrown around for especially insightful/helpful/funny posts. That site seems to be more of a circle jerk system of mutual admiration.

If this site was run like 247, GoIrish41 probably would've negged me back to the stone age in that one thread LOL. Not to mention nuke, NDWorld, etc. on some impassioned discussions. I'm glad that our member base gets less easily butt hurt and is capable of some perspective.

What's your twitter handle? Mine is JKuehn1

Edit: You were probably talking about 247 boards, not twitter.

Great post. I really like the Woodhead comparison. That's a realllllly good pull.

Watching the Colts game and remembering his time at LSU, this guy's more Trindon Holliday than anyone else IMO. He's closer in measurables to Holliday than Sproiles or Woodhead. Holliday was awesome at LSU and made a huge impact.

Disagree. Maybe in build but that is it. Holliday IIRC didn't play much offense at all.

Holliday was 5'5"/160 at Lsu with more straight line speed.

That's shorter, lighter and faster. What are you talking about?

I mean, Isaiah doesn't even start on his high school team right now, so who knows how much offense he'll end up playing in college.

Holliday was 5'5", 160. Sproles is 5'6", 190.

Mckenzie is listed at 5'8", 160.
