Mid season highlights:

It's too bad that he doesn't have better top end speed. His acceleration and agility is definitely a 99.

Tom Loy says McKenzie's phone is off and he's unreachable at the moment. YOU MEAN HE DOESN'T HAVE A BLUETOOTH EARPIECE IN HIS HELMET TO ANSWER TOM'S CALLS DURING A GAME?

I know I about blasted him for that. I saw your comment edited to "."

Loy also said he has heard that he DID NOT commit and that his commitment has not been accepted by the ND staff... sooooooo.......

That's a mid-season highlight tape? Daaaaaaamn, great pickup!

Keep in mind that these highlights are against great competition. And he may not have elite speed, but he's at least a 95 (on you Madden scale), and I'd take agility/quickness over straight line speed any day.

Probably be 99 after a year with Longo.

I don't think it's that important for a slot/inside guy. I guess for ST it can be. He is not exactly slow either. Great pick up.

I heard earlier in the week that he had made enough progress and would be given the ok to commit. All this was before the news about him not having the test score back. My guess is they will take it now to get recruiting momentum started going into the weekend, and then he will have to finish the year strong off the field and make sure the progress he has made stays up. Right now I dont know if he will be part of the class on NSD but he knows what he has to do.

True story. I play hockey with a guy that has bluetooth in his helmet. He is either talking on the phone or listening to music the whole game. He is one of the funniest people you would ever meet though.

Not sure why his lack of top end speed is brought up so much. He clearly has enough speed to take any touch to the house. I don't see him getting run down in the open field. Is he sub 4.4 probably not but his speed is going to be plenty fast enough for BCS football.

So to recap, Loy predicts about every recruit with ND 'interest' to end at ND, but once they actually commit he doesn't buy it.

Yeah it's good he'll just have the same problem long term as Sproles... good enough to make plays all day but occasionally getting caught in the open field after he busts one.

I'll take that all day.

Twice on Saturdays.

Jake Brown says on II that he's been told that it's not likely that Izzy would yet be in a position to commit and that he definitely hasn't talked to the staff about it.

I trust ISD, TP, Izzy and his coaches more than butthurt Loy/Brown.

Jake Brown also thinks it's relevant to say that it's unlikely McKenzie committed because McKenzie told him, Brown, last night that he, McKenzie, would not commit today. Jake Brown might be butt hurt

So if you are new to college football recruiting...A college football program offered a kid a scholarship to attend their school he committed but it might not be accepted.....
