I feel the same way. I'm worried, like everyone, but I don't consider Alex a lost cause just yet.

Basically states that several sources, including apparently one at Bosco, believe AQM to be a silent to ND, but won't make it public until his All-American game.

Irish illustrated now reporting as him silent as well, ....of course with questions marks.

Someone was saying that ESPN is also reporting that AQM is a silent.

Sounds like a very loud silent!

Whatever (and whenever) the scenario, I hope he's Irish!

Same and I never trust Farrell. Also Luke Stampini is the one driving the ship with him going to Florida. My drunk *** signed up for Florida 24 7 so I'll give you guys the scoop whenever something happens, because we're brothers.

Tunnel Vision should come out soon (it's usually out by noon or so, so it's a little late today). Jason promised more info on AQM.

BGI guys don't think we would accept a silent (since silent commits have made a fool of us in the past), but they believe we are the leader and holding a spot for AQM.

So that sounds like he's all but a silent commit.

Pure semantics.

Can someone explain to me why a recruit would be a silent commit? I get why he'd commit early...to save a spot. But why not just make it known? What's the point of a silent?

Sometimes it's because they want to save a spot but continue to take other visits to schools that won't allow committed recruits to visit. In AQM's case, it sounds like it's because he wants to announce at the Army All-American game, but he had to make sure to save a spot in our class first.

This part makes more sense to me than the first. I get that a recruit in some cases needs to hold his spot but would prefer to have a big announcement. Makes sense.

To be clear, when you publicly commit or silently commit...it's still a commitment, right? So why would a staff who has a no-visit policy even accept a silent commitment if in fact the reason behind keeping it silent was to continue to take visits? Perhaps coaching staffs will recruit a committed player differently if they know they're committed elsewhere, so I understand that sort of defense mechanism.

I think if the kid tells other coaches he is committed is the big thing. When they tell one coaching staff they are committed then tell another a different story is when it gets sketchy. Or you could be that kid from Florida who is/isn't committed to FSU and does/doesn't have them in his top 5 but is/isn't planning on visiting them again.

Ugh...

Again, this is why I like the early signing period for basketball.

Think about all the phone calls, texts, emails, twitter mentions, fb messages, etc this kid gets throughout the week eventhough he's supposedly a silent commit to ND. If there was an early signing period, he could sign his LOI and be done w/ recruiting and not have to deal w/ any coaches besides DB and ND, period.

Some kids live it up and I can't say that I blame them. But when it's done, it should really be done and these kids should be left alone to enjoy the remainder of their senior year of hs. Just my opinion.

Note: This rant doesn't really pertain to AQM's recruitment. Just a general feeling I have towards recruiting.

Even better, GB, it was 1:30CST (God's time)! Proud of ya, son!

GB was not only at the bar for lunch, but he was posting about AM on IE for us while doing so. My eyes are a bit misty...now you'll have to excuse me.

And to follow protocol and stay on topic, AM is a great player. Would be a huge get for ND.
