As an aside, I don't doubt that Damefan had it good, or he wouldn't have run with it. The problem is with the whole concept of trying to get out in front of a story like this. It's pretty irresponsible for reasons people have already outlined, and you're better off waiting to see how the chips fall. When there is something to be announced, it'll be announced. No reason to stir up a hornet's nest in the meantime.

I thought Lou's article I linked above was a good retrospective. Times have changed, and in the age of social media with a multi-million dollar recruiting industry it's hard to keep everything on the level.

I would like to point out why grammar is so important: Over 80 percent of communication is non-verbal. Over 80 percent! So it becomes really difficult to decipher intent. And some times frame of reference, with only a few keystrokes of evidence. AND. Personal perspective is markedly different for people engaging in online "conversations," where commonality is more likely with face to face conversation.

Suggestion: Replace personal pronouns with names, even if in sounds silly.

Simplify grammar and shorten sentences, if you want more people to understand more of what you are saying, completely.

Thanks for the warning. My blood pressure is on the low side, a tad lower and I'd be prescribed medication, so that wouldn't be a problem. I have a contorted sense of humor so it might be worth a peek. I haven't passed out in decades and my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure that alcohol was involved.

I'm not at all fond of "drive by" couched, smug "insider" speculation/prediction and choose to ignore it. Shoot me a link to the blog, though, and I'll read it and parse it to within an inch of its life ...

He's had really good info in the past, being a fan and student at ND. Things can change and have in the past in similar situations. Hopefully it remains as frustration and nothing more.
