Just b/c I am curious, how much of MSU have you watched? I think there is a case to be made that Purdue has better skill position talent than MSU.

I've watched highlights so far.. I've seen a sound defense, success with passing over the middle and a QB that can run the read option with decent legs (Cook).

That's enough to keep me concerned.

Sounds like evey team we've played and a recipe for more angst and suffering. Thankfully i won't be able to watch this entire game to witness TE's catching balls at will over the middle and a QB escaping 95% of our attempts at TFL's.

I find it hard to believe a game where you go around killing hookers is going to impact ND's players more than MSU's...

The offensive stats for MSU that they clearly don't have a BJ Cunningham type receiver this year, or just someone they can consistently rely on as their leading receiver has just 8 catches for 99 yards (Notre Dame has 4 different receivers with more yards). And they certainly don't have a Bell type back this year as their leading rusher has just 200 yards so far. Tommy has thrown for more yards (969) than MSU's three quarterbacks combined (480).

The only thing that is a toss up is the running backs. Both teams are pretty even there if you go by stats. QB and receivers are obviously in favor of Notre Dame.

Defensively, MSU has a great one on paper. It is still very unproven IMO as they have only played one team that has a win.

Maybe, but I can tell you that several players have already Tweeted about GTA V coming out today. While it may not make a huge impact on players, I'm going to bet there will be a few of our guys up late this week playing the game...just like I will be

Tommy has thrown for MORE THAN TWICE as many yards (969) as MSU's three quarterbacks combined (480). 969 > 2x480 or 960

We made Jeremy Gallon look better than BJ Cunningham so looking at any receiver on paper means nothing if our D cant firm up.

We've gave up more points in one game (UofM) than MSU has given up all year.

The more I look at that, the more it depresses me.

Please start thinking before posting. Because if you had, you probably wouldn't be so depressed. Check out who they've played. W.Michigan, USF, and Youngstown St. is a garbage schedule and if you read the entire thread Arrowryan tried to point that out.

Always an excuse.......Doesn't matter WHO. More points in one game, than they've given up the whole season.

Purdue and Temple!?!?!?!?! Please think before YOU post. And UofM almost lost to Akron.

Save it.

Its not an excuse its a reality. One that you like to not pay attention to because if you did then you couldn't come on here with you dumba$$ rants all the time. You never bring any sort of credible info just crazy outlandish comments that make no sense. And when people bring facts you call it an excuse.

My ignore list continues to grow.

Looking to see the Irish continue to improve. Better tackling, better blocking, better D overall. Rees and WR's keep on keeping on. Let's get a "W".

Their D is the best we've seen thus far, and maybe the best we'll see all year. They'll stack 8 in the box and play man to man on coverage (and be fairly successful at it). Our D should hang in there as they have little or no dynamic offensive players although the do have a decent run game. Rees is smart, but this will be tough for him as the window he'll have to throw it in to the WRs will be smaller. I hope both sides of the ball get in order. 10-9 is the final score, not sure what number is ours.

Ugh, the ignore list, it's great but it's an imperfect tool. You still see their posts if someone quotes them.

Judging by these posts, people actually use the ignore feature. Honest question. Does it make the site more enjoyable? Rarely am I annoyed by posts, but there is a poster or two that when I read their posts I just wanna urinate on. But I just don't see putting someone on ignore useful personally. As much as I may not like them or their post, it and they are part of the conversation. Its probably just me, I don't get the 'neg' rep thing either.

You are right; it isn't that useful. I experimented with it but I found that the conversation in a particular thread often stopped making sense without the ignored poster's posts. Basically, if the poster is disruptive enough that you want to put him on the ignore list, he is probably a loud enough contributor to the conversation that removing his posts will make the conversation meaningless. So my ignore list currently has zero people on it. That's just one man's opinion though ... maybe other people like it.

FEI predicts the narrowest of Irish victories on Saturday:

58.9% PWE :: NOTRE DAME 17, Michigan State 16

In other words, the model has no clue who will win, but if you put a gun to its head, it says, "Uhhhh... Irish? By 1?"
