First call was bad second was fair. Eve. The worst was far from worst call Ive seem today much less in a while. There is no conspiracy. We lost b our D sucks.

Of course. When teams are fairly evenly matched all it takes is one call made at the right time to tip the scales. You can make ten calls at a less pivotal time and they will not equal that one call at the right time. But I am sure that couldn't, much less wouldn't happen. Because this is not about money, it's about sport, right? Just look at all the other examples.

He gained weight because he had a hernia operation and couldn't take part in conditioning for a while. He'll get there as the season goes on. This has been discussed extesively on this board and by BK.

He can push himself away from the table.

It's called controlling the clock you ding dong. If you get behind early you can't just grind it out and run it up the middle for the win.

Because of the defenses inability to make stops we had to try to keep up with the fast pace scoring if the score was tied or we where ahead 3 then would could just pound the middle and burn the clock. But bc of the poor defense we where playing catch up the whole night.

Thank you. I think too many people are in sky is falling mode. Is this loss bad? Yes, we should expect to be able to beat Michigan. That's my opinion, but our offensive gameplan, save the first two series, was pretty solid.

Tuitt, how about Day with not much of anything today? Little to no penetration. At least tuitt had an int and TD. He was double teamed at times. Day was free and did nothing.

Our DBs were flat out bad. All the way accross the board.

I think that our DB's will get better, and Tuitt will get into better shape. But, we can't make Fox/Grace/Counsell/Carlo faster. They look like they were running in tar.

I think that is a bigger problem.

Coming down from my anger...just time for us to admit this defense isn't as talented as last years and that it may be a season or two before we get one like it again. Young talent all over this roster..BK and company, minus Martin calling for run plays on third down tonight wtf, are good for the program. Still see them going 10-2 this year ! If you're going to lose in college football you want to do it early on. 11 point loss in front of 115k fans doesn't look that bad.

I thought Grace played alright today. Moved laterally pretty good. Anyone else agree? Losing Spond really showed in a game like today. We struggled on the edges. Jaylon will get there.

I have a question:

Wasn't this series between ND and scUM supposed to come to a halt in 2016? And am I dreaming or wasn't it the scUM that scheduled that break ?? Need some help clarifying

Yeah, they did. We had an agreement in principle through something like 2030 with the previous AD. Then the current guy took over for Michigan and renigged on that because nothing was in writing. We were going to be done with the series anyways in 2017 and just accelerated it by 3 games.

The DL and blitzing LBS were in Gardners face all night, he just got away and made plays.

So what was this "magic" that Damefan was babbling about? I didn't see anything out of the ordinary except our secondary getting lit up like a Christmas tree..

Fellas.. this hurts.. talking to one of my best friends right now (scum friend) and he's just giving me the business.. some of you will say I pick terrible friends.. I agree with you.. I should have never become friends with him in the 6th grade, **** this dude..

I'm pretty down about this game tho.. I put wayyyyy to much stock into these ND games.. it's really life or death for me.. already 18 beers into my 24 case of bottled Bud Lights.. we gotta get that defense together and get our studs on the field.. Max Redfield can't play? That dude is WORSE than what we have? Come on..

alright.. love you guys man.. Irish Envy during the season is what I live for.. be well, everyone.. you guys are awesome, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.. we may disagree at times, but you guys are the real deal.. take care my friends

Lets face it, any realistic shot at going to the NC just went up in smoke. Our schedule isn't strong enough to allow a 1 loss team to make the NC. Out best hope is to run the table and finish in the top 10 and get a BCS Bowl, however even that would seem like a long shot after getting tortured watching our D tonight.

I'm not arguing that our schedule is tough enough to absorb a loss and still go to the NC, but I wouldn't sell it completely short here. The teams that are projected to run the table: OSU, Oregon, Alabama, all have very manageable schedules. They're projected to run the table simply based on the fact they're decent or better teams with very few difficult opponents over the entire season. We've got quite a tricky schedule I think, especially with late contests against Stanford and an awful October slate.

let's not focus on a national championship.. let's try to minimize the transfers and maximize the LIO's... I mean let's be realistic

After what I saw tonight, I don't think OSU will beat Michigan two weeks in a row. They were a much better team than I thought they'd be.

I realize this has nothing to do with your point re: schedule, but I just wanted to make that comment.

Yeah, Michigan is a lot better than OSU. They were better than them last year too, but managed to blow that game in the second half.

I agree as far as UM being better than I thought. We put a lot of pressure on Gardner and he simply had the answers (mostly throwing to Gallon) all game long, one bonehead play aside. Michigan is just better than I thought they were, mostly because Gardner I better than I thought he was.

Cant believe people are debatin whether we can make national championship. I would love to make a BCS game but our defense is really bad and we play a lot of good teams. We could make a BCS game but it will be very tough, going to chanpionship is insane.

You need to watch some of the teams we play. We'll make a BCS game. Oklahoma isn't looking like world beaters right now. SC really sucks. Stanford should be the deciding game. Arizona State might be a tough one. Other than that the schedule as I see it is totally manageable and if this team cleans up a couple things it could easily run the table.

10-2 is a lock and even 9-3. The margin is getting smaller though.

His placement on the TDs to Gallon despite all the lamentations in post game threads about CBs would not have been broken up by Bobby Taylor.

Gardner is legit. There were times where he was getting hit and still making the throws. ND's run game looked good but it was too bad they had to give up on it and I thought Tommy made some bad plays but overall alot of dropped balls that should never be dropped made his stats lower. Tough loss though.

This is wayy to early for me to be up but i just cant get back to sleep. Our defense just looks slow, but theres no doubt in my mind Grace should be playing every snap. Hes looks to be our best inside linebacker.
The d line was slow also, thought Jaylon played pretty well, secondary didnt look that great.
Offensively we had problems caused by being behind and trying to let Rees put the game on his back....not gonna happen. I also thought our play callng was just terrible and too conservative the first drive or two which helped us fall behind. That wr screen? Its terrible and its risky to run, throw that one out. Carlisle looked good but damn lets see the freshman get in or at least more cam. GA3 cant catch a damn cold and isnt a legit running back.
Good news is purdue isnt good so hopefully gets us back on track, oh and USC looks terrible.

Our red zone offense still concerns me a lot. We get down there and go empty backfield with a QB that is essentially a non-threat to run it. ND scored 2 offensive TDs in the game, kinda **** poor. For a team that hasn't had a pick on a pass over 20 yds they did a good job keeping ND from even trying a deep ball. This is the first time in the past 4 yrs of this game that ND got outplayed and out coached...I don't even know who the blame falls on anymore, but something needs to change because last yr will really look like a fluke if we keep playing the way we did last night and the red zone impotency continues.
Time to put a straight whooping on Purdue!

GA III is getting massive holes and not really doing much with them. Oh, and he can't catch. Might as well give Amir every snap, and break in the freshman. GA III is not a runningback.

Bryant and Folston will get their reps. Are we really sitting here after game 2 and talking about those two transferring? OMG.
