#NotreDame HC Brian Kelly will visit @CollegeGameDay on Saturday, sometime around 10:40am, per ESPN.

They hate us!

I used to really like this sort of thing. But last year, when BK was on his "media tour" during the bye week before USC, it just felt like his time would have been better spent at home preparing the team...I hope I'm wrong.

He is. He will be doing recruiting pitches to millions of homes at once through ESPN

BK wouldn't agree to go on if he didn't think it was good for him/ND/the team.

Maybe he'll start a Manti for Heisman campaign?

No need to hope... you are wrong.. haha jk brah

Seriously though I doubt a few hours away from the team on a Saturday morning is really gonna hurt them. Every big time coach in the nation does this when given a chance. It will be fine.

This is really good for ND. It's probably the most watched show on Saturdays. National exposure, bitches.

The ESPN commentators seem completely sold on ND now...especially Herbie....and that is saying something.

I didn't mean the show itself is a bad idea, just the concept of using the bye week as when to put all the mileage on the university jet.

This means nothing, he'll just be on for a few minutes to talk about the team.

It doesn't help ND get more exposure because they have more of that than any other program and I'll never believe this type of stuff has any big impact on recruiting.

I think it's great. And the guys on the football team I talk to are all going home this weekend, so i don't know how much preparing BK even has the change to do.

Dude, ND is loaded.

I disagree. It gets kids excited. That could be their future coach on there kicking it with Herbie, Corso, and D. Howard. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Love this! BK gets to get on tv, make us look good, and hopefully get a little love from the mothership! You know Nix will be fired up to play Miami and the rest of the team will as well! The other coaches will be back at the bend to go over film or whatever else the kids that stay behind are needing them for anyways! Good stuff!

a lot of the guys are going home this weekend. it's the bye week; everyone deserves some time away from the grind.

I think Kelly has done a better job dealing with media this year. He has cut down on some of the stuff he was doing the other years to be more focus on the team. I am guessing that if he is doing this, he must feel that it helps the program long term and also doen't alter the progress of the 2012 team.

I think last year he was all over the hype or a reason: 2011 was supposed to be Notre Dame's year. If the turnover tornado didn't appear, it would have been a 10-2/11-1/12-0 season and it would have paid off big time with the #1 recruiting class. It was a gamble.

I am all for seeing BK talk on college game day tomorrow. I am sure they will touch upon what he did to get his team ready for Michigan State and then touch upon the defense and Everett/Rees. I will be tuned in for sure!!!

I agree. I also think he took a lot of these turnovers on himself(as he should) retrospecting the 2011 season. My point is that it seems like he has reviewed his whole schedule in order to maximize the performances on the field and the exposure to promote the program.

That being said, an appearance on college gameday cannot be turned down. As much as we don't like ESPN sometimes, they are the leader for college football coverage and what recruits watch. It is crucial that he looks real good on TV (not worried...BK is a great public speaker). Being 4-0 is certainly going to help as well.

Can we talk about how it is BS that College Gameday is at East Lansing after MSU has already lost when it should have been at ND MSU earlier this year?

Will he be on stage in East Lansing or a "live" feed? Any confirmation? Is it a taped interview? Maybe BK just may want to see burning couches and flipped over cars on campus in East Lansing. I believe I read that he was going to be at a recruits game tonight. I realize the whole airplane getting there quick thing.
