Define "best football played"? The most highly concentrated NFL caliber talent comes from American Samoa I believe (I think it's a rate 10x greater than the national norm). Multiple cities in Louisiana, Virginia Beach, LA, and South Florida are the best in the continental US when it comes to finding a lot of talent in a specific city/suburb. California/Texas, because of their huge in-state populations, have the highest gross amount of talent. And don't sleep on New Jersey which has a big blend of talent.

Indianapolis? I'm not seeing it relative other Midwest cities like Detroit and Chicago... and definitely not relative to other places nationwide. However, the overall state of Indiana in recent years has produced a pretty shocking number of heralded recruits going back to Aldridge. I posted a comparison between Indiana and Louisiana in another thread and you'd be surprised how even it was with regards to 4:s:+ recruits (until this year, where Louisiana laughably trumps Indiana for '14).

Im seeing a ton of traffic on this guy's profile and still wondering why...

Im not sold on this guy and not sure he would ever be anything but a ST player. Historically, IN football has been some of the worst played and coached football in the country. Sure, there are some here and there that make it but it really is few and far between. And this is coming from a guy who grew up in IN, played football there and loves ND.

My reaction is to punt. There are plenty fish in the pond with greater upside than this one. ND is a hot name and there are players, big time players, that want to come there. It just doesnt make a lot of sense to burn a scholarship on a guy that IMO wont make an impact. He would have to gain 30-40 lbs of muscle to remotely compete at the ILB position and there is no way he breaks the safety top 3.

Just dont see it happening on this one.

Comfort...... I completely understand what your point is, however, Indiana football is growing.......considerably from what it was when I played 20 years ago! It's certainly not Texas or Florida, or hell, Ohio for that matter, but we are catching up with the times......here in Ft. Wayne, just in the last couple of years, AWP has opened up, and its not just for football, its for every HS sport pretty much played here in Indiana......Indy still produces more talent because they've been running 7 on 7 teams for the past 15-18 years, Fort Wayne is just now starting to take it more seriously!! Its going to take time, but in the last 10 years, Fort Wayne has put, I believe 5 kids in the NFL.......which is 3 more that I can think of the previous 25 or so.

The biggest hurdle in flipping Drue appears to be early playing time.

He's said both before and after his commitment that early playing time was going to be one of the important factors in his decision.

I think the others were having his major biomedical engineering, has to mesh well with the players and staff, and wants to play close to home.

If early playing time is a true concern, then I doubt he flips. The reality is that he would have to drastically improve as a football player to get an opportunity to start for this team period.

If special teams fits into his definition of "early pt", then sure. He will get plenty of opportunity at that.

I guess it's all in his interpretation of PT.

I agree with you Wooly 100%. Honestly, I would love IN to improve rep wise. I live here in the south where the only believe basketball is played in IN. So when I say I played ball, it is kind of met with a slight chuckle.

I just dont see it with this one. Is it possible to have a Jeff S come out of left field? Definately. But how often is that possible.

I would think our scholarship would be better spent on another WR or DL or even CB before this one.

No offense to anyone in IN now.

1) I grew up and went to college in Indiana but live currently in Alabama
2) Alabama women look a hellova lot better than Indiana, especially Notre Dame, women. Absolutely no arguement there
3) With 1 and 2 being said, why the hell not?

Because it's a photoshopped version of the original photo. Elisha Cuthbert is as much from Alabama as I am from India.

hold on a second...we just went to the Natty...and here we are worrying about an instate 3 star kid who not only just started focusing on football but also has "playing time" concerns with us?

not what i thought would be happening recruiting wise after the return to glory of last year.

and besides trademarks for twitter handles i always worry about guys when at least half the letters in their first names are vowels (Drue, Aaron, Eddie, Tee, Alex...) :)

^This. The staff will coach everyone up but if the talent level starts higher then most likely it will end higher after four years.

I will be honestly pissed if we lose this battle to Purdue lol

Also Wilfong thinks we will be done at linebacker with him unless a big name wants in.

Thank god we brought it last years line backing haul because this one is.....
Just remember how big that Doug Randolph commitment was because I remember a couple people saying we might not have room. Anybody think Doug can play inside? He reminds me a lot of James Vaugthers from Stanford who played both last year.

yep really think Doug can play inside, hes a thumper

I remember mods saying they like him at dog but I don't ever see him playing over Jaylon. I think one of the inside spots would be perfect for his speed and size.

We take this guy and there has to be some serious dope smokin being done in Kellys office. With all the talent out there and this? FL/AL/LA/TX 3 star > IN 3 star all day long.

Seriously, why in the hell did we take that 3-star Brent??? And, Eifert...we never should have touched that 3-star! Bunch of dopes runnin' the show in South Bend.

It's frustrating when people put so much emphasis on star ratings.

And like I said earlier, we need to stop with the 17-19 player classes. Even if Tranquill commits, it will be a miracle if we finish signing day with 25 signatures.

how much does this have to do with him being from awp?

we all know how much we strike out with core6, can't lose good graces of the only other major local training/7on

So, I guess we should pass on every 3* player in Indiana......
Anthony Spencer......Dallas Cowboys
Bernard Pollard.......Tennessee Titans (who won a Super Bowl ring w/Baltimore)
Trai Essex.......Pittsburgh Steelers ( I think.....but owns 2 Super Bowl Rings)
Tyler Eifert.......Bengals

And those are the Fort Wayne kids.......cannot forget Indy, and Northwest Indiana!

Like I said before, we're not the big states in football, but the talent level is getting better.....the coaches see something that they like. Besides, how many 5* kids never pan out???

The OP wasn't talking about star ratings, he was talking about location (i.e., Florida recruits > Indiana).

What is AWP?

Athletes With Purpose.......from my understanding, its a faith based organization which helps young athletes get specialized training in their sport......my friends son goes for hurdles, which is how I knew Remound Wright was going to Stanford about 6 months before he announced.....but it is run by Michael Ledo, who graduated from Bishop Lures and St. Francis University here in Fort Wayne. They've just upgraded to a new complex with more room and much better facilities.......I believe Ledo also coaches the 7 on 7 team, but I could be mistaken.....

Faith based, as in it's church ran or something? That's really weird.
