What a shocker and beating Florida in particular in this race is even more sweet when they stole AA from us last recruiting season. Think we got the better LB. What goes around comes around! Go Irish!!

4.98 is what he ran at The Opening and those times were considered by many to be 'fast' (meaning his NFL combine time would probably be slower than that). He appears to play faster than 4.98 in his film and he has great closing speed. His vertical (30") is actually more concerning IMO. Regardless of his testing numbers though, I think we're getting a kid that isn't even close to realizing his physical potential. He has a great frame to build off of and unteachable instincts, not to mention the intangibles that will allow him to really fit in at ND.

Perhaps some reasoning why the staff may view him as more of an inside guy

Yeragin has over 40 offers and has position flexibility.

Awesome pick up.

Absolutely love the pickup. Actually wrote this one off last week. Clearly not right. Is this a direct correlation to us offerin some other guys? I think so. I'd be willing to bet in a good way. Alford calls and says hey we're offering these guys because we need some backers. We want it to be you but you just announced FL as your leader. Yeargin says, I ****ed up Go Irish!

Does this in any way affect Tranquill's recruitment?

Odd timing that staff offers Tranquill (a potential ILB) and then Yeargin surprisingly pulls the trigger.

Good good good news for us and for Richard and both families {his birth family and his new extended one}. Another young man on the right path to become what he can be.

As to comments about speed & jumping measurables:
1). we probably don't have enough facts on this anyway;
2). he has stated that he's in a growth spurt. That usually means that his body [read, especially, connector ligaments etc] haven't quite settled in yet. He'll probably grow into his "fast twitch" explosive potential sometime soon.

Relax. Life's good when you're Notre Dame.

Alquadin could pretty much only play CAT. Yeargin could possibly play all 4 LB spots. Muhammad was a much more explosive athlete IMO. Kid would have been a beast at ND.

Yeah. Yeargin is more like Randolph ... natural pass-rushing OLB who can also play inside.

So glad this kid is IRISH! I'm not even going to try and figure out what position he plays. Just happy we have an elite versitile athlete that can play multiple positions in the front 7.

This makes defensive recruiting seem very good in my eyes. We have Hayes, Trumbetti, Yeargin, Blankenship adding in Martini sounds very good IMO. We have some work to do along the Dline but it'll get done. This is very very good.

Well 3 of the 5 are on the d-line. We could get Dickinson and Holley (fingers crossed), that's one heck of a haul. And you didn't even mention Bonner, who will also play on the DL
