Playing in IN is hurting his ranking.

Extremely lucky to lock this guy down early. Think Corey Robinson this year, who has been lighting it up in Texas.

I like this kid more and more every time I watch his videos.

I say he ends up at least a top 20 WR on all the services.

Agreed, think he is very underrated. With that in mind Farrell said that he will be a low 4 star when they do their 2014.

He is one that, if he attends the camps and does the summer circuit thing, he could blow up. The staff loved what they saw when he worked out at ND for them and thats why he got the offer and commited right after.

I wonder when people will stop underrating players from Indiana. There's a lot more talent in this state than one would imagine.

I've wondered the same thing for a long time. Athletes from many other states have the same thing happen to them. I'm OK with being our little secret...I guess Purdue and IU are in on it as well but that's OK too. This guy is already fantastic and he's only going to get better! if his QB is also a Junior (i don't know) he is going to blow up next year. Huge get!

If he gets out to some combines this summer he will definitely move up. He is vastly underrated because of his competition.

Oh I know. I predicted him being a consensus top 20 WR by the time he signs.

Well I predict he will be a top 19 receiver by the time he signs.

Cheers to all of us!

I'm impressed by the coaching staff being able to identify talent that early

Think he's saying he's impressed with the staffs ability to identify Brent's elite skill level before everyone else did

We know stuff.

And the only reason I didn't say he would be consensus top 15 is because I knew somebody would slack on their ranking ability. Can always count on at least one site to absolutely blow it. haha

Hope the kid continues to exceed expectations though!

Dude, I was being facetious. Sometimes, when I make such a statement in my ebullience, I get roundly castigated for my attempts.

This

Some ppl may say they don't care about stars but when Jaylon Smith or Elijah Hood hits up a recruit on Twitter, they look them up and see their ranking and are impressed. Now they will see wow Justin Brent is the #7 WR in the country and he's been committed to Notre Dame for 12 months

I know but I'm surprised teams aren't even trying

For all we know/don't know, they maybe. But I wouldn't waste my time if I were them. He seems intelligent and informed based on his interviews, he's in state, and he's inked. That's about as close to a July LOI you can get.

Our highest rated recruit on 24/7.

Love the kids hard work and dedication. An elite wide receiver is a nice thing to have in every class. Don't know if we got that last year. Hunter was our highest rated guy and his future is in question. Brent reminds me a lot of Davaris Daniels.
