So he's totally sold on ND's academic superiority, which is great news. But, in spite of that, he's still not ready to commit. That must indicate some serious reservations about our program, no (3-4 v. 4-3, etc.)?

Yeah it has to be that he prefers 4-3 now.

From what I understand he goes back and forth on the 3-4 vs. 4-3 thing. Think Clemson has gotten into his head on that. Just need to get him and his parents on campus this season for an official.

I am thinking he is thinking that our OLB depth chart is too loaded for much of a shot at early play time.

Really should not be an issue given that Shembo is done after this year and Williams has only 2 more. Okwara could end up at DE. Williams has to know there's competition no matter where he goes.

4-3, 3-4, 2-5, 1-6. What flippin' difference does it make.
Our edge guys contain the run and get after the quarterback. What more does he want?

I dunno... Playing DL in a 1-6 would be kinda crazy.

My guess: he loves ND and understands what it has to offer, but he also really enjoys those other schools AND it's not decision time yet.

He just doesn't feel the need to pick yet so he hasn't made up his mind 100%. I wonder if the interest ND's getting from another highly ranked OLB will give him some focus?

I hope we land him, I do not think he is a cat but a true 4-3 end. I know we dont want to hear this, but he is almost to big right now especially if Longo still wants him to get bigger. I also wonder how well he works in space. It would be interesting to to see him as 3-4 end though.

Per ISD Intel, 4-3 v. 3-4 is no longer a factor in his decision. The staff better explained the at CAT he will primarily be playing with his hand on the ground and will be rushing the QB. He was "pleased" by this

Thanks Kane, I think that is what was bothering him most. There really is only a small difference between ND's CAT and a 4-3 DE. Glad Andrew got a satisfactory explanation; really would hate to lose this guy over something like that.

I thought for a while this guy would be the Irish's next commit. Now, I think the Irish are behind both Clemson and Auburn. The longer he waits the less I like the Irish's chances. Somehow I think he is slipping away and Clemson will be the team to beat.

Not the case. BTW I thought Kirby Smart was ready to wrap up Lorenzo Carter.

I think Clemson is leading right now, but I think ND has made up some ground this past week. ND making the top 5, and Andrew saying that the 4-3 and 3-4 doesn't matter anymore are both very good signs. I hope Andrew visits this summer with his parents, and then I think we will be at least tied with Clemson at the top.

I agree with Tommy on Williams and don't actually think Florida leads for Carter and Bama still does

No one leads for Carter and that is 100% fact. I've known Coach Maloof and family 30 years and he'd tell you Carter has no clue where he's going at this time. Everyone has a shot. We shall see on Williams.

Oh, it's you again. IMO, IMO,IMO.

Lol, what? Pretty sure I don't say IMO very often. I don't know **** so I rarely have an opinion (regarding football/recruiting). How about you just give you a reason Tommy was wrong instead of coming off like a know-it-all dickhead? Is that so hard?

For others that would be possible. For you I'd rather be a dickhead. BTW what is Tommy's reason other than "I think."

ND is in his Top 5 and will get a OV per Loy. He said if it wasn't for the football aspect of things he'd definitely be going to ND. He's gonna try to visit this summer.

Per ISD Intel, 4-3 v. 3-4 is no longer a factor in his decision. The staff better explained the at CAT he will primarily be playing with his hand on the ground and will be rushing the QB. He was "pleased" by this

I don't know how anyone can put these two updates together and suggest we don't lead for him or that he is slipping. We continue to talk in circles about Williams. He will be Irish.

Edit: STL's post was on Tuesday, July 2. Kane's update was today, 4 days later.

I agree with Tommy on Williams and don't actually think Florida leads for Carter and Bama still does

Florida leads for Carter. Fact. Alabama fans don't like hearing this and ND fans don't care who leads right now. If Carter wants something 'different', he will pick ND. If he doesn't, the South will battle for him. Personally, I think we have as good of a shot as anyone right now and that's all we can ask for at this point.

@LCarter_25 why none of the bama and uga analysts believe that fla leads for u? Uga fans believe ur in the bag for them.

@KiddPOET12 let people believe what they want... At the end of the day I named UF my leader #GatorNation #

I think UF is firmly in it for Carter but he's just saying they lead because he's tired of ppl saying he's going to Bama or UGA. Just the vibe I am getting.

Agree with you on both Williams and Carter. Get LC and family on campus and our shot is as good as any. Dad is from Chicago. Williams is still ours to lose.

It doesn't matter if Florida, Bama, Notre Dame, or Blue Mountain State is his leader today. The leader on NSD will be the one celebrating, not the leader on July 6th

Get him on campus and I will like our chances

Anyone else love the fact that three of our biggest front-7 targets all come from "pipeline" schools?

Andrew Williams --- Eagles Landing (Isaac Rochell)
Solomon Thomas --- Coppell (Cam McDaniel)
Thomas Holley --- Lincoln (Ishaq Williams)

I think this fact alone will leave me really disappointed if we can't land all three of them. I know pipeline doesn't equal lock/commitment, but you have to like our dogs in these races.
