Loy says Elam is on campus today, currently meeting with Diaco. Will take a campus tour and then head out this evening.

Hope he left already cause it's storming HARD right now. That first gust of wind was insane, and now it's just hard rain and thunder/lightening...

Visit was "one of the best he has been on" and said this put us in the mix. Don't get too excited though because he then said he could "maybe" come back up for a game.

I really want this kid. You can't coach that kind of size and he appears to have that country/farmer boy strength.

Said it was eye opening and be didn't expect this. Anyone else think he's too y'all for NT? I think he could be a better Kap. Same frame.

His frame is nothing like anyone on our current roster, but definately not Kap. Kap came in at like 6'4", 225.

He's all UK IMO and will commit on this visit there:

“@D_Barker7: July 19th weekend is shaping up to be GREAT! All of the commits + @FballIsLife69 and now @HNYNUT_BERRIOS just told me he will be there too!”

No shits they aren't comparable in stats at the same age. I know what Kap came in at. But Kap now. He played at 305-320 last year I believe. He could be good at NT, but I think his height and endomorph is more suited to the outside.

These poor UK recruits. They'll be lucky if they ever experience a 7 win season and a lower tier bowl.

Agreed. The UK commits are doing a fantastic job recruiting him. He's going to be a tough pull for Louisville, Alabama or ND.

Really hope we can just get Matt up for a visit. Feel like if he commits to Kentucky early though it won't be over. Just can't see Kentucky maintaining this recuiting momentum going into and during the season.

He literally just left South Bend. Maybe lets read back a few pages before commenting?

Unless you just forgot the word "again". Then I'll eat my words.

Oh sorry meant for a official during the fall, haha my mistake.

Words eaten.

I just get frustrated with people when they comment without reading the most current pages. Sorry for the lashing.

I hope he makes it back for gameday too. ND gameday>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>UK gameday.

Forgive me if they have changed the rules for this cycle, but they still need to play a season before anybody can sign on for real, right? Unless this a season unlike all of the others in the history of Kentucky football, I'd be surprised if all their current commits stayed "tough pulls" for other programs, never mind kids that haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I know Kentucky's got momentum right now, but it's early. I just can't imagine they keep all these kids when they're 5-7. Elam's got to know he can do better.
And it's not like Notre Dame (or Alabama) are really that far from Mama. A five hour drive is close enough for Eddie Vanderdoes, right?

I agree it's unlikely all 18 of their current commits end up signing with UK on NSD. There's still a long way to go, but some guys, mainly their star QB recruit and lead recruiter, aren't going anywhere. Stoops is going to get a pass this season and surely didn't sell these kids on instant success. Anything better than 2-10 will be seen as an improvement.

Like it or not, Elam will be a tough pull.

Side note. I'm very interested as to why they have power plates in the locker room. If anyone has info on this, please, shoot me a PM. I've used em for therapy before but am always looking for new uses for them.

Per TJ at II, the visit couldn't have gone better from ND's perspective and we believe from Matts as well. Getting him back with mom with big a bug deal. Staff is aware this will be a dogfight and it sounds like they are prepared to do so.

Agreed. UK may lose some current (or future) verbals, but it won't be because they finish 4-8 or 5-7 this season. These guys on board right now are buying into changing the program around, they don't expect UK to be a contender this year and that they will be the finishing touches to a Natty in a year or two. They're well aware of UK's recent past results and grim outlook for this year.

I just don't see this staff striking out on NG in this class idk who it will be yet, maybe Elam, but they've gone after the position to hard to not get one.

I don't doubt that the kids have realistic expectations, but you still have to go through the losing season to know how it will effect you. Right now it is easy to rock your UK Football gear and talk about changing the program. Everyone has the same record. When the rubber hits the road, some guys will be loyal to their pledge but some won't have the stomach for losing and will head toward where the spotlight is shining at that time.

What makes this cycle different than the last three?

Get him back up for gameday with his mom and I'll start to get invested in this recruitment. Until then I'm not gonna get my hopes up with Elam.
