I think the worst part of that movie is is that I have no idea what they were lol. My best guess is a form of mutant people or something along those lines

Just watched Alien for the first time. Tremendous lighting/camera angles. Scary **** for a 70s movie.

I popped it in a year or so ago assuming it was just a great Sci-Fi movie. NOPE. It legitimately scared me.

Aliens....ehhh I wasn't that big of a fan, I expect better from James Cameron.

What's nuts about Alien/Aliens and really all of the movies from those days is how much better Star Wars looks. George Lucas was truly revolutionary.

Forgot about Chernobyl Diaries. Far far worse than Sinister. It was a complete piece of ****.

Sinister made me cringe with the homemade movies. (Mentioning the movie keeps my girlfriend up. She's afraid to look over at her door and see that dude standing there.)

Chernobyl Diaries though...wow. Scariest thing in that ****ing movie is the bear. It terrified my girlfriend though.

Just watched Fight Club and Inception to write a paper for my philosophy class on the perception of reality. Both are excellent movies because of that.

And if you like those types of movies then I'd also suggest: Pandorum and Shutter Island and I just watched Identity tonight as well and it is similar

Not recommending The Truman Show and The Matrix because I feel like those ones are too easy, but are along the same themes.

Memento is also similar to those movies and is very good

The Great Gatsby

- Thought the theatrics of it were amazing and if u hadn't read the book it was probably an awesome movie but unfortunately I thought Luhrmann for the most part missed the point of the book and the theatrics overshadow the characters. DiCaprio and Maguire were excellent choices though and I love the soundtrack.

Iron Man 3. Good popcorn movie but should've been about 40 minutes shorter. Tried to be smart through surprises and twists and came off as needlessly complicated.

Huge David Lynch fan. I finally finished Inland Empire after about 3 tries. It's pretty far out there, even for DL standards.

I've read the book, saw the old Great Gatsby with Robert Reford, and saw the new one last night. I thought it was excellent. I agree with you, DiCaprio and Maguire did a great job. I thought the movie was "deep", if that makes any sense. I say that because I thought they did a great job showing the deep love and emotion Gatsby had for Daisy.

I read a review for the movie and this line stood out to me (paraphrasing):

"The number one way you can tell Luhrmann missed the point of the book is the amount of people saying they wish they were Jay Gatsby."

Took the family to Iron Man 3. Thought it was a great family movie. All 3 kids (ages 7,11 and 15) liked it a lot. 7 year old didn't ask to go to the bathroom one time.

Sorry but IMO this can't be true. If u read it, and I mean really read it, analyzed it etc, I don't think there is any way the movie can be amazing.

I watched "Raising Arizona" the other night; it's been awhile since I've seen it. Even though it's of its time (the 80s) in certain respects, it has a very timeless feel to it. To me, that's what makes Coen brother's movies so good, the films have that classic feel to them. You can watch them again and again over time and keep enjoying them without feeling like you're watching a relic of the past.

People who watched the movie and want to be Gastby have serious issues. How can they not look beyond Gastby's weath and parties and see how truly miserable and lonely he was. All the money in the world can't change ones past or make another forget hers. Ps I thought the movie was great.

Miller's Crossing; Fargo; No Country for Old Men. I would watch any of them, any time, with anyone!

Strangley the kids and I sat down and watched Back to the Future, and had a blast. It was amazing to me how timeless that movie seemed, (granted it was a period piece). It is just that the dialog didn't sound corny, especially as the movie was from the '80's.

I'm trying to milk the 6 month Netflix gift my son gave me. Here's my list:

Zorba the Greek
Dr. Strangelove
The Last Waltz
Harvey
A Clockwork Orange
Cool Hand Luke
Catch-22
Adam's Rib
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Slaughterhouse Five
Woodstock
Mother Night
Yellow Submarine

Harold and Maude, King of Hearts, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Gandhi and others on the way. This could make for an interesting psychological/personality profile. Maybe better than an MMPI.
