Kelly said on NSD that he wants to put a fence around Indiana. I know it's not the Mecca of high school football but there are 3-4 kids a year that we should be pulling in that are ending up elsewhere. Completely agree with what you are saying.

Per Rivals the top 3 player in Indiana in 2014 are all WRs the best of the bunch is Austin Roberts who doesn't even have ND interest. Weird because its not grades with his offers from Northwestern and Stanford.

Found this interesting since he's an Indiana kid. From Wiltfong's article on Tranquill he also updated Lee's recruitment. Apparently he's pick up quite a bit of interest over the last few months. He's currently deciding between California, Northwestern, Louisville, Oregon, Penn State and Virginia Tech. Will officially visit Vtech and Penn State then decide.

Pretty surprised we didn't go after him as an ILB candidate. Good frame with good athleticism. He's a legit 6'2" and could probably play around 240. Probably the best fit for a 4-3 OLB, but right now I'd take anyone.

I agree, it seems like we always here about how we want tall and long ILB's yet no offer to Mr. Lee. I have to assume that they know something we don't about ILB recruiting or guys on the team currently that have what it takes.

Wiltfong is reporting that we reached out late last week after learning that Brandon played some ILB this fall. Our staff is going to watch tape of his ILB snaps and may offer if it likes what it sees.

I won't lie: considering his frame, his location and the team's needs at LB, I'm a bit perplexed that the staff is so late to the party.

I was wondering the same thing.

I find a little fishy the story that ND just heard that Brandon played some ILB and now wants to see film. Since when do we only recruit guys who have experience playing the position we expect them to play for us? We say all the time on this board that our staff recruits athletes, not pre-made position players. Couldn't we have told by watching his junior film, even if he was playing OLB, whether he had the makings of a ND ILB in terms of his physical traits? I can't help but wonder ...
