Put it here and not Vanderdoes thread.

To be competely honest with you guys.....its setting up in a way that past yr shaped up where theres a good chance that ND pulls a legendary finish. Last yr there were circumstances that prevented things from happening and kids being kids and ND wasnt coming off a title appearence. Theres a few names that have been off NDs radar that they are still talking to and getting listened to more importantly. If it was a life or death decision id bank on things being done before signing day. Like any school they dont want any surprises on NSD and being able to work on other options before NSD

It would be awesome to steal Hargreaves from Florida....

That's my ultimate wish, after watching him in the all star game. He was unreal. I have no info and no reason to believe he would be considering ND at all while committed to Florida, but if I could ask for one recruit in this class, it would be him. Yes, even over Nkemdiche.

My guess is EV + either P. Willis or M Alexander (off the radar, but still talking/listening).

I'd go crazy if we could pull PW or MA. I'd be happy though with EV and LJ Moore. Just EV would make me overjoyed about life in general.

It would surprise me to learn that we are still recruiting DBs, but those guys are so elite that it wouldn't surprise me that much.

Would love to get into the mix with Alexander, but Hargreaves would be a great steal. I thought he stood out the most in the All Star games.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. If we pick up EV, I think the staff will look at purely "best available".

Further rationale 1) MA loved ND from the start, just couldn't see himself going North. He's not gong to lose the love that easy, but he could have changed his mind about geography for several reasons. and 2) PW liked ND early too, and TP made a comment months ago suggesting we were in a lot better position with PW than anyone thought.

No source, just gut feel based on how all this has played out historically, internally and externally. As long as we get EV, this is the best class ever IMHO. If we get another stud, just icing on an unbelievable cake. Like I said, I'd be very happy picking up LJM.

Regarding DBs... several reasons we might not be done.
  1. We are young, and have improved throughout the year, but we still got exposed.
  2. Our DL is awesome, but they ran into by far the best O line all year. Stanford was good, but no where near Bama or some of the SEC. That being said, they still played well, but not dominating enough to take the heat off the DBs. Both DBs and LBs were exposed for all that matters.
  3. We've got decent prospects in 2013 already, but CL is the only true CB. Not saying the other 2 suck, but they are still very raw.
  4. Lastly, MA and PW are pure and polished CBs. Ready made studs.
