Per BGI parents want ND and Brian wants to stay close to home.

Alford needs to continue to work on him and will.

the problem with that is he wants to stay close to home. Thats hard to change and if he does get here and realize that he wants to be closer to home then your lost a recruit spot for someone else that would stay here.

BREAKING NEWS: We're here in Frankfort, Kentucky where there appears to be a white male with stunning black hair carrying a house on his back. The people inside the house claim to be the Pooles from Bradenton, Florida. We just received information that the man carrying the house is headed back to South Bend, Indiana with the home so Brian Poole can play football for Notre Dame while still remaining close to home. One second, hearing something from our closer reporters, oh, now this makes sense, the man is of course none other than Bob Diaco.

Bob's showing off again. He could have just folded space-time and it would have been less flashy.

Give him a bunch of oranges and let him have a pet alligator. Would that be enough to make him feel at home?

I agree with this and it breaks my heart.

I'm trying to take notes for my final next Thursday, but this isn't too shabby for 4min of work, is it? haha

I aprove, if i had a twitter account i would send it. Course his house is prob like 25 mins away from me, if i wasnt a poor lil boy i would just blow it up and put it in his yard.

247 thinks as of right now that Poole will stick with UF but that could very well change.

Lynch was worried about homesickness as well, right? Get Aaron to talk to him.

If I recall correctly, Aaron was more worried about how he would fair academically at ND. He had a lot of people, most believe it was a HS coach and the FSU staff. in his ear constantly reinforcing the academic challenges of ND, and that he may not be able to handle them. The ND coaches and Aaron's momma were finally able to make him feel comfortable with the opportunities that ND would offer him for the rest of his life, and the support systems that are in place to make sure he would succeed as long as he wanted to.

I dont know how much of that information is 100% accurate, but that is what was being reported, and the chatter on message boards etc at the time it all went down.

Regardless, it definitely could do nothing but help to have Aaron talk to him. Aaron stepped outside of his comfort zone, and made the decision that will ultimately be the best one for him in football and in life. He also came in, worked hard, made the adjustment to college life away from home, and had a huge impact on the field as a true frosh. He has a ridiculous future ahead of him, and it would be awesome to watch him pressuring QBs into making bad throws that Brian and the gang could take advantage of over the next 3 years.

Doesn't Poole have Indiana family? His dad is from Ft. Wayne.

At that age it's more about friends, I would think.

Although these kids don't realize that about 95 or more probably 99% of the kids they graduate with they will hardly ever talk to again. I talk to about 10 people that I graduated with. I'm only 24. Of course right out of high school I still talked to much more but in the past couple of years that number has dwindled. I also don't participate with the Facebook crap either.

Doesn't want to move away from home and hates the cold.

Unless he has a last minute change of heart or his parents force him, he isn't coming.

I'm not sure how a defensive player can not absolutely love to play in the cold. I loved hitting in cold weather. I remember playing in a foot of snow. Boy, what a treat!

hope he doesnt plan on playing football in the NFL

Just because he has to do it in the NFL doesn't mean he'll want to/have to do it in college.

I'll personally never blame a kid wanting to be around warm weather. The cold just isn't for some people, and if they hate it as much as they think, they might just transfer anyway. I'd rather know now rather than 3 months into his freshman year when he isn't playing, is homesick, can't stand the cold and decides to transfer.

On to the next one...

I'm with LA. Just because a kid will have to put up with the cold when he is making millions in the NFL, doesn't mean that they have to do it for the next 3-4 years when they have the choice.

Furthermore, like 1% of college football players actually make it to the pros. I'm not saying that Poole wont (he certainly has the talent), but preparing for the possibility of possibly having to opportunity of playing in the cold in the NFL shouldn't be a deciding factor for a kid.

You mean where he'll get PAID for his job anywhere from mid 6 figures to 7 figures? And where they have indoor practice facilities? And in the winter time, when his season is over, he can move back to Florida?

If I can essentially go anywhere in the United States to play football and get a free education for college, then why wouldn't I pick a place exactly to my liking?
