Very encouraging update from II regarding Folston:

He is announcing at the UA game on 1/5, and does not have another visit planned for this weekend (the only weekend he can go anywhere before then). His only visits to places that have the same coaching staffs intact are ND and Oregon, and we know that Chip is in the air.

He also is not bothered at all by the Bryant commitment - in fact his HC thinks he actually might have liked it by citing his love for competition and the fact that it is now a world of 2 back offenses.

As per BGI email teaser:

Cocoa (Fla.) High Top247 running back*Tarean Folston*has a decision date.
*
"He's going to try and do it at the Under Armour game," Cocoa coach Johnny Wilkinson said.
*
"I think there are six (schools) that are factors. Notre Dame, Oregon, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida State and South Florida."
*
Ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 9 running back and No. 116 prospect overall, the 5-foot-9, 185-pound Folston has been tight lipped about his recruitment. He has already taken official visits to Notre Dame (Oct. 19) and Oregon (Nov. 6).

one on one's vs inside backers is soooo overrated imo. RB should win that every time

Nice video. A real weapon out of the backfield. Theo with a higher ceiling? Seems to have a little more top end speed.

Happens a lot in games. It's what makes Theo so important to us, and why we want Folston so bad. They don't just win, they win big. That's not overrated IMO.

Seems to be the common theme with the RBs we are recruiting this cycle. It would be an absolute grand slam home run for the RB position getting both Bryant and Folston.

A good CB gets beat in that drill every time...not just LB's. However, it gives you an idea of how crisp his patterns are, how he creates separation, and whether he catches the ball with his hands or his body. Most of which can be addressed with great coaching. I want him in the fold. Remember the arsenal of backs Lou used to field everyweek...some of them even did well in the pros.

in the slot maybe, but i don't think it happens a lot anymore for that reason....i guess though i mean when you see a back at a camp run a dart and then wheel it up the sideline. that's not very impressive imo

Tennessee, USF and FSU all trying to get him to visit this weekend. USF wants him in a bad way and Willie Taggart was a good hire there. Will be interesting to see how he can recruit.

FSU board thinks he will visit them, pretty unanimous from the staff and the posters that they waited too long though.

I don't know what is going on with Collins anymore, but it's pretty obvious that Folston is a back up plan for the Noles. No way he doesn't see the situation as that.

If Taggart gets Folston to visit, USF is gonna be a problem.

Taggart is a tremendous coach, and will turn one of his RBs into a stud, no questions asked. Just hope it doesn't end up being Folston.

I agree that is the one place you do not want him to visit Taggart is good enough to pull off an upset.

Folston has known for awhile he was the back up plan at FSU he was still interested. FSU is about to lose their RB Coach Gran who was leading Collins' recruitment.

If they lost Gran, would Green be back in play for us? I remember there was some optimism around his recruitment earlier.

Man I would trade Folston for Green. But I don't think Gran made the difference in his recruitment.

For further clarification, UA AA is 1/4, Army AA is 1/5.

So, not to get ahead of ourselves, but what you're saying is we could officially land Redfield, Folston and AQM, and win the national championship, all in the course of a long weekend?

I know bra. That's why I said what I said.

Talked about it quite a bit in the coaching change thread.

He will stick with FSU

Daddy Vader is solid to FSU.

Oregon hasn't even offered Folston?

Offers are only shown if the player has publicly stated he has received an offer. AQM doesn't have Alabama listed as having offered even though it is known they have. This happens often with players who do not talk much. People read too much into it.
