So that whooping of UT is looking pretty pedestrian right now. Texas is down to KU 14-7 last I checked. Please, because I can't quite figure it out, can someone explain to me why in Gods green earth are we 10-12 pt underdogs. I just don't get this one.

Glad you brought this up. All week I've been thinking if them playing weak Kansas last week would be beneficial for us. I'm starting to think it will.

Everyone keeps talking about Oklahomas last three games and the teams they played were very weak! Kansas is running at will on Texas and Kansas is not a good team. Oklahomas last three wins are a smoke screen for all the 'EXPERTS' and Mark May is a OklaHOMO! I can't stand to listen or look at that guy.

If Texas loses to Kansas Brown is gone at the end of the season.

Damn, does he have eligibility left?! That must be our secret weapon against Oklahoma

Who's "Bob Golic?" That picture is of Mike Rogers, resident advisor at University of LA.

If I hadn't watched a down of college football this year and all I did was watch Gameday this morning I'd have thought we were 0-7 and Oklahoma was the '85 Bears. For the love of God all this "the only way Notre Dame keeps is close is if..." drove me crazy. We're 7-0 with one of the top 2 or 3 defenses in the entire country! Give us at least a little credit, ESPN. You can't claim to be unbiased and then have your Gameday crew treat our 7-0 team like a DIII High School football team.

Hell yea he does.

Haha. What I'm saying is if Brown is gone this year or next. I think it's Charlie Strong's job. He's connections to Florida and relative ease with which Texas can recruit instate would be a huge deal in his push for the job.

Haha. Favorite tweet of the day so far.

@burger23OFD: It's too bad ND has had to play patsies like Michigan and Michigan State while Oklahoma played juggernauts like Texas and Kansas :(

1) im being Jesse Pinkman tonight...and prob 10000 other people

2) i dont follow this logic

i woke up early this morning posted this after I saw Atkinson got sick and went back to sleep. I now realize it didn't make a lick of sense.

I think my dilerious train of thought went something like this: oh no! Fast guy's sick, out other fast guys will need to bring it now. Neal will probably be affected by this but Brown's touches should have no bearing on this.

Everyone make sure you step back for a moment and soak in this season and how it's developed. Appreciate where we are and where we're headed, as a program.

Tonight is a mammoth match up, a football fans dream. No matter the outcome, we will see Manti, Martin, Tyler, Cierre, Theo and all of our boys fight for every inch on every play. Cheer them on and keep the faith for four quarters because this one is coming down to the last few plays. GO IRISH

It's going to be interesting to see how much 3-4 we play compared to 4 man fronts with nickel coverage. My guess is they'll use a 4 man front for most of the game. We'll see.

With K state and Florida not looking all that great the world of college football is there for the taking tonight.

K State's offense reminds me of Tebow without Percy Harvin and all the other speed Florida had back then.

Right on, i'm thinking the same thing. This is a defining game for us today.

wooly--hypothetical for you. we win tonight and georgia beats florida--do they leap frog us? it is the SEC so their games are weighted stronger. thoughts?

I say no way. Oklahoma is respected nationally. Plus, it would mean ND beat them in their house, while the Georgia/Florida game is neutral site. ND won't be second guessed by anyone if victorious tonight.

As most of you Irish fans, I am stoked, pumped up, nervous, and any other adjective you can think of. Most of all, I hope it is an injury free game. We all know it will be a classic. A classic Oklahoma/Notre Dame game. One for the history books. Thanks for allowing me to come on here and read some of your most knowlegable threads by just about all of you.

Good luck and may the best team win, and win the rest of the season. Boomer Sooner Irish Fans !!

I'm watching the OU-K-State game right now.

I don't know if this is normal for OU, but in the 1st half they are using a 6-man protection on every pass play with their running back staying in with the 5 linemen to protect Jones. K-State is rushing only 4 and dropping 7, which leaves OU with 4 receivers against 7 pass defenders. OU has had some success, but it says something that OU didn't think they could block 4 D-linemen with their offensive line.

Contrast this USC who always protected with 5, which is why they were so great with guys like Bush and McKnight as additional pass receivers.

In K-State's favor, they have fast LB's, with Arthur Brown (remember him) as a very fast coverage LB.

Heading out for the evening. I hope we pull the upset but regardless I am so proud of our guys for playing so hard this year and showing such mental toughness... 7-0 against the hardest schedule anyone has played so far. Lost 3 of our 5 best returning players in the secondary and are still fielding a top 10 defense. So before we all lose perspective after the (most likely) loss... I hope we all recognize how much this team has over-achieved to not be 6-6 and instead be on track for a BCS bowl. First time in awhile I've been straight up proud of the team we've put on the field.

GO IRISH!
