Tori,
By your decision, you just showed everyone that you are a smart young man along with being a great football player. Welcome to the family.

What else could Fuller and Onwuala play? CB and safety?

Fuller could certainly play CB, maybe safety, not sure about James. He is big enough to play safety and likely fast enough. Hopefully we won't find out.

Funny how you could have Torii Hunter Sr., David Robinson, Chris Collinsworth, George Atkinson, and Mike Golic all on the sidelines. Move some pieces around and their sons could all be on offense at one time.

Onwualu lines up in the backfield for his high school sometimes ... maybe RB? This is the first I've heard of any "positional flexibility" for Onwualu though. I definitely think he'll be a WR. I know we're considering Fuller as an athlete who may play DB though.

Is Torii going to be playing slot or wide? I keep hearing how explosive he is. What is the initial assumption here?

He was told at one point that he'll play mostly slot but that he'll be moved around as well. Who really knows though.

ya, I think James is a good fit at that RB/slot role... a little taller and more freakish athlete than Toma for that position.

Fuller is essentially an ATH by every service and team recruiting him. At first, we thought Fuller was recruited to be a CB, but we eventually found out that the staff wants him at WR.

Cool. I think we are building something really awesome at the receiver position. The 3 freshmen are looking good. TJ Jones and Davaris Daniels are looking good. With these guys coming in, we are going to have a lot of versatility in the ranks.

He's probably going to play all over, much like Riddick did in his slot role the last two seasons.

Right, pretty sure that's what Kelly told Hunter on his last visit, that he would be used like 2010-11 Theo Riddick.

X Daniels/Ferguson/Smith/Robinson
Y Jones/Brown/Fuller
Z Neal/Carlisle (Used at WR as much as Riddick is now)/Onwualu/Hunter

Idk if the letters are right but u get the point

IIRC, our two outside WRs are designated X and W. I think Y is usually reserved for a TE.

I couldn't pull up the current UND Depth Chart.

Coach D uses Flanker (W), Split End (X), Tight End (Y) in the ISD Depth Chart.

IrishIllustrated Depth Chart just uses WR/TE.

Coach D uses Flanker (W), Split End (X), Tight End (Y) in the ISD Depth Chart.

IrishIllustrated Depth Chart just uses WR/TE.

From wikipedia:

Split end (X or SE): A receiver on the line of scrimmage, necessary to meet the rule requiring seven such players at snap. Where applicable, this receiver is on the opposite side of the tight end. The split end is farthest from center on his side of the field.

Flanker (Z or FL): A receiver lining up behind the line of scrimmage. Frequently the team's featured receiver, the flanker uses the initial buffer between himself and a defender to avoid jamming, legal contact within five yards of the line of scrimmage. The flanker is generally on the same side of the formation as a tight end. As with the split end, this receiver is the farthest player from the center on his side of the field. The flanker is probably lined up just like a split end except that he is just behind the line of scrimmage, being in the backfield and not on the line.

Slot receiver (Y or SL): A less-formal name given to receivers in addition to split ends and flankers (for example, tight-ends who line up wide). These receivers line up between the split end/flanker and the linemen. If aligned with a flanker, the slot receiver is usually on the line of scrimmage, and if with a split end, off the line of scrimmage. As with the flanker position, a featured receiver often takes a slot position with a split end to avoid jamming.

IIRC, our 2011 starters were Floyd (W WR), Riddick (Z WR), and Jones (X WR). I'd guess that in Kelly's system, W = Flanker, X = Split End, and Z = Slot.

On espn unite he said he will be used like Riddick is and has been used. Also those guys on Unite, Kanell and the Reese dude, should have both been BJs....these guys are clowns. Kanell looks like he needs to pee the entire show and the Reese cat is a ND HATER!!!! I thought Torri handled him self well, especially when Reese asked him, "who would he rather have throw incomplete passes to you, Rees or Golson?" Seriously who is this Reese dude, no one that should be talking **** to some one that is actually going to be doing something with his life, thats for sure.

Reese Waters is a douchebag... plain and simple. He is like all the time on that show! But it is clear that it is his "role" for the show and its ratings...

Notre Dame has a top five class so far in 2013 and I like this class quite a bit because it hits some key needs (linebacker, athletic playmakers on offense, offensive lineman). If the Irish close on two high-level defensive backs, this could be their best class in a long, long time. When I look up and down this class, I find it much harder to see kids that the Irish reached on than in recent years. Torii Hunter Jr. and William Fuller might not be the biggest or fastest guys, but trust me they will be one of the best 1-2 punches at wide receiver for Notre Dame since Michael Floyd and Golden Tate were making big plays.
