I'm so damn excited for Saturday! This game means more to me than any of the others hands down. I don't care if we win by 50 or by 1 as long as its a win! They have had our number the last few years but also for the entire series and I can't stand it! I would love to see us take 5-6 in a row with the first one starting on Saturday! Just for the record I hate the skunkbears!

@Mark__Snyder: Brady Hoke about Brian Kelly calling him big: "I think I am. Large, husky, whatever. Chris Farley, whatever.

Rudy, my man, I'm not trying to give you a hard time but do you live your life in nervous shakes? I think you might be the most shook fan I've seen on this site and let me also say, I understand.

But, let me help you. Instead of focusing on how many times Notre Dame Football has hurt you, focus on the progress that has been made the last three years. Look closer into this "program" and acknowledge the leaps and bounds it has made.

- Recruitment of pure athletes, capable of playing multiple positions.

- Recruitment of program changing talent at crucial poitions. (Tuitt, Nix, Day, Ishaq, Keivare, Shumate etc etc).

- The true development of said players and extraordinary improvements in the previously enrolled. (Shembo, KLM, Motta and yes, even Te'o)

- Small, vital changes. (Training table, discipline/rules, extraction of entitlement)

- PAUL LUONGO and for that matter, the rest of this incredible staff.

- The difference in Brian Kelly from day 1 to now. Listen to his speeches at MSU, he knows it's time to let the dogs off the chain. He never spoke to his team like he did that night, on the road, against a top 10 team. His plan is coming to a crescendo and everyone on that campus knows it.

Last year we were up 24-7 going into the 4th quarter. We gave the ball away 5 times in that game alone. Tell me Rudy, what has been the most significant improvement with the offense this year?

That's right, turnovers. UM needs turnovers to win this game.

Our defense has the necessary depth to go 4 quarters and has shown to be disciplined and unforgiving so far.

If the guys come out and play mistake free, run oriented football, Michigan does not have the horses to keep up. The nerves are normal, especially when you understand that anything could happen on Saturdays. But, look closer at the program, open up to the excitement surrounding them (it's justified) and drop the anxiety.. Bragging and talking smack is a lot more fun anyway.

I do have a few anxiety issues theyve only really been showing for this game. Youre right but my nerves for this game are worse because of the last few years and they still have effin robinson. We have proven to be a better team this year but i just dont wanna jinx anythnig espcially going into this game. I also dont want to get my hopes up to high because I remember the last time I had huge hopes for us it was in 06 and Michigan ruined that hope. I just hope youre right man I dont want to bring any posters here down but i dunno maybe i just have the tendancy to overthink things but I like that post bro.

To attempt to give a rational response to the Michigan fan about his team's right tackle: A). Taylor Lewan [not King Lewan, he has not earned that name yet, if he already had he would not have been manhandled by Alabama to the point of limping off the field --- courageous, no doubt; King of Football, no], is a fine offensive lineman --- every football analyst, plus our coaching staff realizes that. He is also the best that UofM has. That actually says something when one realizes that UofM has not been able to run the ball except for quarterback runs in three games. With an "All-American" right tackle yet ineffective standard rushing, one might pause for a moment and wonder just how good the entire line is?

B). Alabama wore Lewan down and he was hurt going off the field. Initially there was some speculation that he might even miss games. Well, he's a tough cookie --- true, and reps to him. But he HAS been worn down already this season and at least minorly damaged. An objective analyst might worry just a little about that and use a bit more balanced commentary on how obviously he'll dominate a powerful D-Line composed of three-deep assault weapons for four quarters.

C). Taylor Lewan may indeed be a great pro. He cannot block the whole D-Line by himself, and he will be playing against several guys who will be in the NFL themselves. Prince Shembo is an elite college-level pass-rusher. Lewan will win some. Shembo will win some. Tuitt will win some; probably a lot. If Lewan is lucky he won't have to block Nix; and if he's down in there who's got the edge?

D). a balanced analysis of this might admit that Taylor Lewan is going to need a lot of help on Saturday--- help that there is little evidence of its existence so far [Omameh is a serviceable guard, I'll admit; doubtless he is not considered a first-rounder]. Lewan would seem to be in need of help not only from his fellows on the starting line, but perhaps a serious blow here and there to regroup to face the hydra-headed monster that is the ND pass-rushing line. [I include Shembo and Williams].

In the end, I understand homerism and defiant extremism quite well --- a common human trait... sociologically pathetic and unhelpful for rational discussion and analysis, but understandable. My view is less complicated: Lewan's good. Our D-Line is good. Let's play the game and see if he can block the whole ND defense.

Obviously he cannot, I was more just using the king thing as a mere joke in reference to Shembo's first name. I have no doubt your D-line will have great success against us, not one ounce of me doubts that. If Denard executes the gameplan seen in practices this week it will negate a majority of the front seven pressure. Thats a big IF though haha. Cant wait this is going to be a great game!

Just don't have a heart attack, man!

Breathe, that's right slowly. Picture something that calms you (sex and drugs = not a good idea), then close your eyes and concentrate on it. Still yourself. Relax. Feel your breathing, feel your heart beat, slower, slower, loosen you your toes, work yourself up your feet, your legs, your back, your chest, your fingers - arms and shoulders, your neck. Then your face and the muscles under your scalp. Nice and relaxed? Then stand up and . . . .

KICK SOME @SS!

You do it. You take charge. You bend the world your will!

Be a warrior, and have a great evening.

Gotta minimize the big plays. Nick Fitzpatrick simulated Robinson on scout team this week.

What? Why Nick Fitzpatrick?

I honestly now nothing about him other than he is a walk on wr that is small and plays WR. My guess, he may have played QB at some point in high school and Kelly wants our first team to practice trying to kill Denard. We don't want Tuitt killing a kid that will actually play one day.

Day and KLM are good to go to practice. Kelly adds that DaVaris Daniels is healthy and all the way back this week.

Hmm, the 247 updates made it sound like he has made a lot of progress but is definitely not 100% healthy. Does anyone know what Kelly actually said?

To the Michigan fan: i missed your "King" vs "Prince" joke --- actually pretty clever. Apologies for that particular part of my post. Still stand by the rest of it, though. I believe that Denard, dangerous as he is, is going to have a LOT more trouble against Diaco's defense this year. But we shall see Saturday.

yea i actually played on the same team and graduated with Nick Fitzpatrick and he was an average athlete at best. His brother was ten times the athlete he was. I hope he gave them a good look. He also never played qb in high school either. He was a killer grade school qb though if that means anything. Though like I said I hope he prepared them

Well, Denard's got the passing ability of a grade school QB so they've probably got the hideously underthrown balls covered. Let's hope they also devoted some time to catching a frightened jackrabbit.

But was he fast? That's what counts.

He was fast for South Bend football but I think his forty was like a 4.7 or 4.8 which sadly was one of the faster times on Marian's team.

Fun fact: I also blocked Danniel Smith when he was a Junior playing on Defense and I was a Senior. And Braxton Cave kicked off for his high school team.

There's really no simulating Denard unless you use Davonte back there and that's not happening... Gap assignments and practicing forcing Denard to commit to pass or run asap.

So I take it that he was there because he was the only one that misheard Kelly when he asked, "who here is willing to get their head ripped off by the first team defense?"

Todd McShay just said last week he thought MSU's front seven was the best in the country outside of the SEC. After watching us play he retracted that statement and believes we deserve that distinction now.

Said his eyes will be glued to the television this weekend and UM vs ND is easily the best matchup week 4 in college football...want to beat these bastards so bad. That last part is me not McShay.
