I was predicting 9-3. I'd still predict 9-3. Difference is then I was being optimistic, and now I actually think we'll go 9-3. From optimism to expectations.

Still, Michigan's Michigan. Stanford and BYU scare me more than they did in the pre-season. We're not going to sneak up on Oklahoma. And we can't count on USC to implode just yet. Could still lose 4 games easy.

Not biting again. One game at a time boys. Just because we're 3-0 doesn't mean we can't end up with a bad record. Still a lot of time and a lot of tough games left.

Gonna say 9-3 right now. If we play really well against Michigan I might change it but Stanford and BYU worry me.

I was at six to seven wins in the pre season... I am staying there until our boys beat Michigan... If they start 4-0 then clearly it's time to revise... Michigan is one hell of a monkey on our back, this weekend will tell all.

I made a thread like this after the Navy game, but that game wasn't monumental enough to swing confidence either way and thus didn't garner any interesting responses.

However, last night's win was monumental. Does the whipping of a top-10 team on the road have you drinking the BCS kool-aid it seems like everyone in the national media is? Or are you going to sit back and take it game by game?

Have at it, gents.
First off fire away at me for my predicted 1-3 start. I desereve it. Right now I'm not sure what the heck these bunch of Irish are going to do. My season is complete no matter what they do if they go 3-0 against the big 10. I'm just happy to be wrong!!!!!

Revise your predictions? Wussies-stick with your original (in my case) overly optimistic predictions.

If you had them losing the last few games-pick another team.

I said 8-4 before the Season with losses to MSU, Stanford, USC, and OU. Obviously we beat MSU, but I think we Might drop one to Stanford or BYU. So I'm at 9-3.

Great start!

We have the ability to win every game we play, but we could also lose any of them.

One game at a time.

Beat Michigan! Sack Denard!

Coming into the season, I thought 8 and 4 (with a split of MSU and UM). If we win at UM, then I'll revise to 9 and 3.

USC looked more beatable than I expected but Stanford looked tougher. Big 10 is taking it on the chin to start the year. I like to think Purdue and Michigan State are better teams than we made them look.

I started with 8-4, (3-1, 2-2, 3-1 was my season break down). Based on our play I should move that to 9-3 since we are better than I thought and I think we beat at least one of USC, Stanford and OK. Michigan or BYU could easily sneak up on us so I can't go to 10-2, but probably will if we stomp Michigan by 20.

I thought this was a 7 to 9 win team.... if you told me we'd have to play 9+ games without Slaughter I would have said 7 wins tops.... but new guys have really stepped up. So I'll adjust my floor to 8 wins. It's hard to envision us losing to a team we're supposed to beat in addition to Stanford, Michigan, USC, and Oklahoma... all games where we should have somewhere between a 40% and 60% chance of victory.

All in all, I remain cautious about how our secondary will fare against truly good skill players. Michigan, Oklahoma, and USC all have different ways to exploit mistakes. This Saturday's game will be a true test of whether or not Motta has taken a step forward, Farley is ready to play starter's minutes, and if our CBs can hang with athletic WRs for more than a 2-mississippi count.

I think we go 10-2.... but if we have any magic left in the Fighting Irish, I think this year could be it. We match up excellently with Stanford. Oklahoma, although a really good team and even tougher at home, I think is overrated and not deserving of their top 5 rank. USC is going to be a hell of a game to win too, but we match up comparably with Stanford, and Stanford beat em. And then we got Michigan. We should beat them by at least two touchdowns, but I know Denard all to well and he will somehow pull something out of his butt and make it close. Go 2-2 in those 4 games and we are going to the Fiesta. Everything is against us this year I feel like with injury, transfer, and just a bad feeling about the program going into the year. Now with the 3-0 start, it feels like something special may be brewing.

Say we lose to Michigan. But go on to run the table. Can 11-1 Irish team with our schedule sneak into the NC?

I will take a loss to Michigan if it means 11-1. As much as it would suck since we are clearly the better team.

As would I...but if we're going 11-1 with the 1 being Michigan, I'd say we're just as likely to go 12-0. Seriously, they don't play good D.

I need to take a step back from the kool aid, but it's f*cking delicious.

ESPN put out Bowl Predictions following this weekend's games. Getting more respect from them now. They have ND slated for the Fiesta Bowl against either West Va. or Texas.

Still leaning with 8-4. Still thinking losses Stan, USC and UO and the eventual WTF loss to either SCUM or BYU.

I have a batch of kool-aid in my house we beat michigan ill mix it and put it in the fridge. We beat OU or USC Ill drink it but right now we need to beat UM.

I just dunno if we can do it, not impossible but just based on the last 3 years it just seems like we cannot get it done and Ill believe we can beat them when i see it. Im not sayin its impossible im not saying we wont but I just dunno if we can just because of a bad history and in years liek 2010 where we had a better team but just didnt get it done

Well I had us 8-4 with a loss to Michigan State, so I am bumping up to 9-3 with losses to Standford, Oklahoma and USC.

I've felt all along we'd get UM finally ... we'll see soon enough.
