white field

a few friends of mine who are under the age 21 plan on going tailgating with us in white field. does anyone know if excise are out there or how heavily they patrol it? there not looking to get wasted just have a few beers. i have seen quite few in the joyce lot and more on campus but have never tailgated in white field.

In my opinion, they patrol that lot the hardest. They have dudes on horesback along with patrol cars and undercover. Good luck with that.

beer may be a little obvious so i am thinking more along the lines of jack and cokes in solo cups. i dont see the excise being that nosy/curious. if they went up to everyone with a cup, that would be ridiculous.

Have you been to Notre Dame? Alcohol enforcement IS life. Ridiculous is what the excise police do best.

You'd be surprised how nosey/obnoxious they can be. Seen it first hand. It makes their day to bust under-aged morons drinking. Let your "friends" acquire a few more rings to the trunk before you serve them alcohol...assuming you're of age yourself....which brings into account another problem. If excise catches you as a 21 year old (presuming) serving under-age patrons, you're freaking screwed beyond belief.

yes i have been to ND lots of times, never to white field. tailgated alot under 21 in the joyce let, never been caught. since white is not in the heart of campus like the joyce i just did not know what the case was out there.

Solo cups SCREAM alcohol to cops. You'd be better off getting 20 oz bottles of coke and topping off their beverages in the bottles as needed.

Or so I'm told.

Just don't draw attention to yourselves and you should be OK. It also helps if you have a bunch of adults (clearly over 21) with you. But I'll second everything said above, the excise police have nothing better to do...

I can actually say with 110% certainty that my first drink of alcohol was an Alabama Slammer at The Torch (formerly Michiana's HOTTEST night club), about an hour after I officially turned 21.

No joke. One of the few Notre Dame alumnus who can actually say that with a straight face. I'm dull like that.
