Has anyone but jimmymac confirmed that Tee was missing classes?

Tee's ACT score being the main reason behind his departure came from GrantlandX (an on-campus writer for HLS), and IIRC, was confirmed by GBDomer and TP. But jimmymac is the only source I can recall for the "Tee skipping class" rumor.

I personally just want to ask, can he suit up for Navy? Jk

Look give the kid a break, as far as I'm concerned if he wants to be here and he puts in the work, make it happen. Now if he doesn't want to do it the right way then forget about him. It's pretty simple really.

I agree 100%

To be honest my sources were second hand. Kids in his classes said he barely showed up (one kid said only three times before he left) and other ppl in the program/team told me that he wasnt going at all..... That's the thing that bothers me. If it was just act score, and he gets that up fine. But if he wasn't showing up to class im concerned that wont change

Now I may not be the smartest person. But if his scholarship is still open and he brings his act up. What's to keep him from trying to re enroll for the fall term?

Not questioning your integrity; just trying to figure out how much we "know" about this situation is credible.

Jmunsirish's earlier point about Tuitt is worth further consideration. Stephon missed a single class (or was it more?) and got crucified for it. How could Tee be missing classes left and right without anyone knowing about it? Granted, Stephon missed class during the season, which forced Kelly to sit him for a game he otherwise would have played in, so that may explain why it received more attention.

But still... wouldn't there have been more concrete confirmation of Tee's laziness if he was indeed missing that much class?

Good point. That is pretty curious. It'd be great for someone to actually talk to tee to hear the truth.

My thoughts are this:

1- If ND enrolled him to begin with they can clear him again, especially if he jumps the hoops and proves himself (please prove yourself kid).

2- Look at our DB depth guys............. if anybody of his talent that can play DB wants in,... you let. him. in.

hoping this works out.

I don't see what the harm is. If it is indeed academics, give the kid a shot. I can't imagine going through a school like ND and succeeding, let alone being hearing impaired and doing it. If ND can find someone who can tutor him that would be great. It's a tough adjustment for any 18 year old. He will have to work hard to get back in.

Pull up your stools. It's story hour. To make it easier, you're allowed to go to your cubbies to get your nap time sleeping bags or blankets to expedite matters.

At the end of my first semester at ND I was on academic probation. Had I a scholarship, athletic or otherwise, it probably would have been dust in the wind.

Calculus was not my cup-o-tea, especially with the inept grad student charged with "teaching" my section. After two years of high school biology, the second year delving heavily into Watson & Crick's recently published Double Helix theories concerning DNA and RNA, I was disappointed with Biology 101 with it's on rote memorization of Kingdoms and Phyla. Especially as one of 200 or so students in the class administered, again, by graduate assistants. It was distressing just how much of the final was dedicated to regurgitation of dry facts easily obtainable rather than any critical thinking, exploration and application.

I learned that my writing and thinking skills were a bit rough and needed work in both a writing and philosophy class. I was quite discouraged and would have considered transferring had my GPA not sucked so royally. I stuck it out and things got better as I got more and more immersed in my major.

What is my point? Adjustment to and survival in a school as competitive and demanding as ND is rarely simple and easy. Tee has a hearing deficit that makes life more challenging and difficult. He was an EE which adds a whole 'nother layer of pressure. Add to that the pressure that comes with being a highly touted athlete on scholarship and expected to excel on the gridiron and you have a roiling pressure cooker on the verge of exploding.

Had he not had special status as a football player; had he been a typical student with no sports media hype, no one here would know a damn thing about him or have much of an opinion.

My take? Back off, boogaloos. Let the young man sort things out in peace and the university make it's decision based on fact and circumstance.

"Back off boogaloo" is line from a (typically) silly Ringo Starr song from 1971 that occasionally bubbles to the surface of my scattered (yet freakishly accurate) brain. I always took it to mean something along the lines of "Chill, Dude. Don't be such a damn hard-arse."

And yes ... juices from organically grown, free range fruit (no high fructose corn syrup allowed!) and gluten, peanut and latex free cookies will be served after nap time and potty breaks.

I'd welcome Tee back. I'd also welcome any player that passes admissions and could help the team, including Greenberry, Yuri, and Lynch.

Bring them all back, I'm drunk, **** Michigan.

Do you know that? No. And do remember that Tee's hearing is severely impaired; you might want to think twice before impugning the academic achievement for a young man with a serious learning disability.

Tee loved and apparently still loves ND. It sounds like he's working hard to get back here. I'm not optimistic that it will happen, but regardless of that outcome, ND fans really have no cause to be angry with him based on what we know.

I feel like some people are having difficulties interpreting what I've written so far in this thread. I admitted to writing a couple moderately harsh things about Tee when he left. I also implied that I would like to see him get a second chance. I also mentioned that Tee "wronged" us and was sure to use quotations hoping that nobody would infer that I, personally, felt wronged. I then gave a brief explanation as to why I thought people may have truly felt wronged. You will see by my lack of posts in the recruiting threads that I am far from heavily invested in this area of ND football or any sport for that matter. I can admit that in the heat of his departure I said some things that I could have done without writing but I never wished him harm or things of the sort. I apparently made none of this clear in my first few posts...

I dunno. Without knowing what exactly went on I don't think its right to crucify the kid as a loser. If he's sincere about coming back, and is ready the accept the responsibility that comes with all the ND has to offer, why not? People make mistakes, some learn from them, some don't. Hopefully this is a kid that learned and is a better man for it.

I would love for him to work his way to an opportunity to come back to ND.

Can we start a new recruiting thread on him since this will be his second time?

Considering he was offered then left because.... uh hum.... "medical reasons" first he would have to pass all the medical test.... then i would imagine since he fell behind academically he would have to reserve for a 5th..... It would be a very long and hard road for this young man.... and he seems to not be the patient type....

To some college students school is nothing but a tool to becoming a professional athlete. while others actually see the importance of it...I feel Tee is more the tool...

My thoughts exactly...

I have to admit.....after reading through this thread, I've been not only shocked and appalled, but wonderfully surprised and grateful at the responses to some of the Butt-hurt Jackasses here today. We can call out players and coaches for underperforming, but there is absolutely NO excuse for calling out a young man who tried, and failed, but is still trying to follow a dream. What in the hell is wrong with some of you???

Not one of us, is in his shoes at this point in life.....he's severely hearing impaired, his cousin bails on him and the team at the last minute, he tried and failed, and is apparently trying again. Is that not what we do in life?? When we fall, we pick ourselves back up again. Good luck Tee, I, for one, am rooting like hell fhat he makes it back!!

Exactly. As hard as it is for me to see Tee getting back to ND, I couldn't be rooting any harder for him to make it back. Yeah, it would be cool for us, as fans. But more importantly, it would be an AWESOME thing for him if he ultimately achieved his dream of going to school at Notre Dame. I agree 100% with you about how crazy it is that supposed fans could have contempt for the kid, when I think his situation warrants the exact opposite of that.
