Anyone with any idea or opinion about whether his USC offer is commitable? Seems like, considering their scholarship situation (think they have 3 spots left, although they could pick up another one here shortly, plus they have that kid who just got hurt), Drennon may not have a seat at that table. Also seems like maybe he would have already jumped on board there if he could have. On the other hand, they could land any two or three of about five DBs, but their class is relatively thin at the DE/OLB hybrid spot, with one smaller OLB and one bigger DE committed, and they don't seem too involved with anyone appreciably better than Drennon at that position.
If USC were to remove themselves from consideration, I'd like our chances here against WVU, UNC and Kentucky. Not that we could never lose a recruiting battle with one of those schools, but we shouldn't lose too many. But I have mixed feelings about Drennon, just like I do about Ebenezer. If we take two DEs, I'd much rather take Sherit and hope for Muhammad. I get that neither are listed here as candidates for the hybrid DE/OLB role, but I'm not sure I get why Drennon and Ogundeko are considered prospects for that position and Sherit and Muhammad aren't when you look at their basic info and positions:
Muhammad - 6'4" 230, SDE, 4.65 95 rating
Sherit - 6'4" 240, WDE, 4.70, 91 rating
Drennon - 6'4", 225, WDE, 4.70, 90 rating
Ogundeko - 6'4" 240, SDE, 4.74, 89 rating
Anybody have a feel for whether we could take Sherit and Muhammad (if we were fortunate enough that they both wanted in)?
