What's the right group of recruits for this year?

I think Ogundeko decides in mid August... certainly not too late for him. Also, don't forget we seem to get a transfer or two every year and with the QB situation there's a good chance that happens.

I just hope we don't slow play the wrong kid, or turn away the wrong kid and end up with another Tommy Schutt fiasco on our hands. Still bothers me how that turned out. I'm just not a fan of turning away a top defensive lineman (even if we had already met our quota for the class).

This has been VERY fluid so who knows how long this will last lol! August or after the UA game I would like to have this kid!

When Malik steps on campus, I doubt all 4 of the current QBs will be there, my prime suspect for transfer: Tommy Rees... If Cam roberson gets a medical scholarship, things could definitely get interesting because we could possibly take 24 recruits. which would open us up to take more than we really need (which is great!)

Randolph, Anzalone, and Rochell committing soon would really solidify this class and allow us to take more of what we want and best available.

Rees won't transfer....he knows (he better know) that he isn't a NFL prospect so why leave a Notre Dame education? He won't. If anyone transfers it will be Hendrix, Golson, Kiel. If Golson passes Hendrix then look for Hendrix as a prime candidate.

Of our current QBs, I'd probably peg Kiel as the most likely to transfer, if any of them do.

• As you noted, Rees has no future in the NFL, so it'd be a terrible decision to give up his ND degree.
• Hendrix is pre-med, and ND has one of the nation's strongest pre-professional programs. He also doesn't strike me as a "football first" kind of guy.
• Golson is a cerebral kid who doesn't project favorably in the NFL (at least not as a QB). Something tells me he'd switch positions and stay at ND before he'd transfer to play QB elsewhere.
• Kiel was the mostly highly-touted of the bunch and has the best NFL prospects as well, so if he doesn't win the job by his junior year, I'd expect him to bolt.

Matuska has a career of 12 catches. Matuska plays very weak competition in obio. Ill go with Heuerman over him everyday of the week.
