Done caring about this one. I think that with the depth we have at RB we will be fine, if he ends up wanting to jump on board, which could happen, then great. More then likely he ends up somewhere in the south. Anything can happen though after he sees how kelly will use athletes like him this season.

There's no way we're getting this kid given his complete lack of direction.

Any way the wind blows...

Is H-- G--ne? Or is to soon to say?

He gone.

...but then he'll be back...

...and then gone again...

...and back....

...and gone...

...so on and so forth. Would behoove us not to invest ANY emotion into this particular recruitment. I'm not saying he can't wind up here, I'm just saying:

PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

After visiting Auburn his new top 3 is Auburn FSU Clemson. Unbelievable.

1. Actually, it's pretty believable, if you've been following his recruitment closely. He visited ND and loved it so much he almost committed. His parents talked him out of it b/c they want him to play closer to home, and they asked him to check out more schools. Then he goes to FSU and they suddenly are even with ND. A month later, they lead ND. Now he visits Auburn and they are in is top 3, with ND nowhere to be found (according to NDPhilly, who didn't site his source). Wouldn't surprise me at all to hear in a week that he actually has a top 4 with ND still in it.

2. Couple of you guys are getting on the verge of ripping the kid personally. Don't. There is a LONG way until NSD, and anything can happen. And a kid isn't a bad kid if he doesn't choose ND b/c he wants to be closer to home. Moving far from home isn't for everyone.

3. This is why you don't get too invested in these kids this early in the game. Things change so rapidly, and we're not even at the halfway point yet in this recruiting cycle. Not even close. We win, more names will pop up, and guys like Ryan Green will notice. We lose, and we'll probably see a decommitment or two. Par for the course. But why sweat Ryan Green now - even if he was a verbal we'd be having this same conversation down the road, b/c he wouldn't be solid anyways. ..

As LA pointed out, his parents want him to stay down south, which clearly plays against us, but we've overcome more with other kids before, try letting this play out before we jump on a kid for changing things up to keep his parents happy. WE love the parents who insist their kids look at us, yet we jump on the kids when their parents want them to stay closer to home......I'm having a hard time figuring that one out.

What is the JC Shuburt reference to? Did he say something about Green?

I believe he said ND is barely in it for Green or something like that. Soon after that he said he likes ND for Alquadin Muhammad.

Seems like the staff wants to take one RB though with the recent offers. I really like Tarean Folston. Hope he visits soon.

1. Its May. ND wins games and Cierre and Theo pop for over 1,000, ND will be one of the hats on Greens table.

2. If I was Ryan Green I would use hesitation on coming to ND for the football side as well. ND has only really had a 1 year of good running football since Darius Walker and that was last year. We have a coach that was strictly on defense now as the OC, and no proven pass game. Then add in a new Oline coach on top of it.

3. Recruits dont follow every move like some of us fans. They are aware of coaching personalities and promises from every school in the nation. But what speaks volumes is position play aka stats, wins, and winning the big game.

4. ND has produced stats for 1 year in the run game. We as fans think that Martin and Hiestand are great moves, but they havent made it through 1 game yet. I have confidence in the moves personally and think they are great choices as well as huge upgrades to each coaching position. However, nothing has been proven.

5. In my eyes, I see him seeing FSU/ND on about the same level as far as where the programs are at so why would he choose to go 1500miles away when he could stay in state. Auburn just won a national title and is still fairly close to Florida. Clemson did wonders with Sammy Watkins, and have a high octane offense. When push comes to shove I feel ND is on par with those schools, but also ND hasnt done anything to show that they are on par with those schools on a national level.

6. All of the above are why we didnt get a legit chance with Keith Marshall. I think Keith had no problems with leaving Georgia but ND just didnt do anything to put themselves ahead of UGA. Georgia featured a frosh RB and made it to the SEC champ game.

7. We win games and the elite skill kids will look harder. BK and co have learned how to sell ND and how to stick out in that area. Now is the time for them to learn how to sell ND on the field. To be honest at this point say we lost to a BYU by 7 but beat Oklahoma...I truly feel that would help sell the program more than beating a BYU and losing to Oklahoma by 7. Its just a matter of hey ND can hang with the big boys.

Just my 2 cents.

I know I busted your balls on the J. Jones thing Philly (was just playen) but I agree with you on it does seem like the staff wants one RB. I really like Foster also, I wish there was more info out there on him and his interest level in ND. Cocoa isn't too far from me and might go to a game this fall if he seems interested in ND and my presence at one of his games should be enough of an honor to get him more interested in ND.
If Green was to chose another school I would feel ok with another stud like Foster.

Green ready to narrow list to five

Florida State and USC were his favorites growing up, and he mentions that the schools recruiting him the hardest are FSU, Notre Dame, Clemson, Tennessee and USC.

It really sounds like Florida State is the school to beat here.

He has great jukes, but also runs with power. Great hands catching the ball. Just needs to tie his shoes.

DANGIT!!! I was afraid this would happen. Didn't think it would be so soon though.

And FSU will probably keep him. FSU has an absolute joke of a schedule this year.
