what a difference a lil weight gain can do for you. From D3-D2 to top level D1 prospect.

I put on 55 lbs through high school and the only thing I got out of it was bigger clothes and tighter squeezes in the roller coasters at Cedar Point.

Haha

I think that the fact he is coming to visit with alot of the commits has to bode well for us. I would say its a UF ND battle.

putting on nearly 70 pounds and picking up speed in only 1 year?

Steroids, anyone?

Yeah, because growth spurts don't happen all the freakin' time for teenagers.....

I really hope you're kidding.

I personally went from 215 to 255 over one summer for my senior year of wrestling. It's not the most uncommon thing in the world.

WOAH WOAH.

More like, "Puberty anyone?"

I don't think anyone of us on here is in any place to cast those kind of aspersions about a kid. Everyone's body is different. Over the summer after freshman year of college I put on 35 lbs of muscle through hard work and a strict diet plan. Don't know if you were kidding or something because you have been civil with your posts before but that kind of thing isn't necessary.

I'm not kidding at all.

Yeah, putting on 70 pounds and getting faster is really so common. Didn't hear any mention of him getting taller. Just heard articles about him gaining 70 pounds of muscle and getting faster in less than a year.

Color me skeptical. Millions of people in this country use steroids, many of them high school athletes. It wouldn't exactly be all that uncommon.

A remember another private school football player from New Jersey named Brian Cushing. He was basically never going to get recruited by D-1 schools....until he started using steroids and blew up on the recruiting trail.

I went from 4'11" 95lbs to 5'5" 125lbs during my freshman year of high school with almost no working out other than baseball.

If he hit his spurt late and was working out and eating right, steroids are not necessary.

As I said, everyone is different. This kid made his gains when he was 15/16 years old do you realize how young that is/how immature most guys bodies are at that age? Maybe he did add height, just because it wasn't explicitly mentioned doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Furthermore, Cushing has no bearing on this young man. Like I said, we aren't in any place to start slinging mud like that around here unless you have explicit proof that it is going on your musings are damaging to this thread and the kid's reputation.

Ok...I'm not saying HE IS using steroids. All I was saying is that it is definitely a possibility.

I am definitely suspicious of a 70 pound weight gain and a kid getting even faster after putting on all that weight in under 1 year.

I put 30 lbs on between my sophomore and junior year and I got faster.......it's the time when your body starts to grow and on top of that you are doing a routine like anzalone....makes complete sense

On top of that I was 5'10" coming into high school and I left 6'2"....not a big deal (I was pissed)
My dad though went from 5'8" in high school to 6'5" after college..

People are different

I have put on 40lbs in my 40's and 50's, and that's all down to diet as well, Just spent the last 6 months sweating 25 of them off. I coach rugby in high school a i would just love some of my kids to develop like this. Just image the fine tuning that can be done with a kid like this in a college weights programme.

I put on 12 lbs in hs. Ended at 204. Started at 192. Came out of the boonies at 189, my all time lowest adult weight. 7 % bodyfat. Haven't seen those days forever.

Here is the point. When I started high school, I probably had a 33 inch waist and a 42 inch chest. When I finished, 32 and 46. When I got out of the service, 31 and 48. If you start off with nothing, no muscle or fat, grow one inch and really work at the right time, you could easily put on 60 +.

Oh yeah. I went from 133 lbs (wrestling 7th grade) to 192 just before football freshman year. I grew from 5'6" or so to 5'9". Worked as a bouncer that summer; loved kicking 17 year olds out for being underage and trying to fake it!

I'm not big, but you make me feel big. lol

In 7th grade I weighed 90 pounds. By my senior year of high school I weighed as much as 165 pounds. I weigh around there now. (I also never lifted weights until my senior year. And even after a year of not lifting after that, I was able to go back and do more weight than I ever have been.)

Can't fit in size 28s like you though GB. I have a small waste, but I have a big butt and hips for a guy. lol I get size 34s just so they can fit everything below the waste.

So are you saying you don't have to actually go out and buy skinny jeans...you just get them naturally??!! That's handy.
