Horrible waste of a great chance on the counter by Ecuador there. Wow.

Thoroughly impressed with Ecuadors performance! Especially with 10players and especially with their goal keeper.

France is inexplicably wasting good chances though. I can't believe this is the same team that scored 8 goals in two games.

But Ecuador deserve credit for fighting hard.

Agreed but it seems like Ecuador gets the credit for denying France. That goal keeper is outstanding!

Dang these Ecuadorians are going to have some serious headaches after this game...jeez, don't think I've seen so many defensive headers ever.

How about we channel our best 2009 Spain in the Confed Cup and we beat them 2-0, and then Ghana beats Portugal 3-0... With this result there would be a "drawing of lots" between Ghana and Germany. I would love for Ghana to get eliminated because of a ping pong ball...

Screw the ping pong.. that would mean we win the group for the second straight World Cup...

Would be quite the accomplishment for USA soccer-- and I think it is at least a possible outcome that the US can squeak out of victory. CONCACAF and CONMEBOL have shown out so far in the World Cup with the exception of Honduras, and UEFA not so much. Only thing that worries me is that they still might be a little fatigued.

I'm calling it already... Ghana will be winning by a few goals and we will be in a situation where it's a tie or a one goal deficient and all we have to do is kill the ball in extra time and Germany will score in the dying moments. Yep, I’m that much of a pessimistic a hole.

Also, I get CONMEBOL has many top level teams, but it sits wrong that they get over half their group in the WC... just me.

My sis just let me know she is making the drive and going to tomorrow's viewing party at DnBs. Her HS best friend's uncle is an Outlaw down there and got them in... so jelly.

Isn't it slightly awkward that the largest viewing party for USAs game is in Canada?

That's Ontario, California, outside of LA.

THIS^^^ I'm in Cali IB81.

btw, true story, she didn't even know who the Outlaws were before today. I'm the only soccer nut in the family. She told me she was going to a viewing party near LA, I thought about it and was like, "I'll bet that's an Outlaw gig." Looked into it and sure enough, and a BIG ONE...

So I text her all of that and her response, "Why would there be outlaws there?? The US is playing, not Mexico."

not even joking... I died laughing.

She is off work tomorrow and I'm 'working'... if that's what you want to call it.

Picture me in the break room for two hours ignoring all things 'work.'

I work at a job where I do two appointments that last about 3 hours a piece. I'll most likely be walking into my second appointment during the end of the game, so it looks like I'm going to be having a lot of "texts from my manager" during the beginning part of the appointment. haha

I could not finish that. I guess it's fun to think about but he really has no clue about positions. I will give it a whirl again but he lost me at Sherman the center back because he is good at head games.

I always like to imagine Russell Westbrooks slippery athletisim on a field where no one was allowed to body check him with the ball.

I know the USA would pown everyone of we honed our best athletes to the purpose of soccer.

As is, it's baseball, football, or basketball.

That's where the money is at.

I know it's so dumb. But thinking of LeSean McCoy if somehow he had a good first touch is awesome. As is Calvin Johnson at goalie... that'd be so crazy, and would totally work.

Yeah l can see that if their speed translated with a ball at their feet instead of in their hands. Some of the dual threat QBs would make excellent wingers. I would love to line up a bunch of TE sized Center backs lol.

My AO shirt came today just in time. I'm taking a half day tomorrow an watching at the local AO party. Already pretty nervous. I predict a 1-1 tie and a Ghana 3-1 win.

Which would yield what result?

A Ghana advancement? Even though we won head-to-head?
