Another exciting thing is that the Class of 2017 is bonding with the Class of 2018, which can only help 2018 recruiting. Due to A) The early nature of the 2018 commitments and B) 2 being from PA to match the 3 (4 w/ Hainsey) from 2017 have made the classes interact more than normal already it seems.

This combined with C) an early elite QB commit have them makings of a very close knit class growing.

Malik Vann? I could see it being a while until our next 2018 commit. It was a great early run that the staff had.

OSU special

Possibly but you have to figure in the obvious...our guys will have "academic issues" while their's show off in a "rented" Range Rover or Lexus convertible while getting tatted up for free.

So who are the must-gets or most-likely's for 2018 that I should begin acquainting myself with?

Derrik Allen the CB, Malik Vann DE out of OH. ASB. I bet Crusader is gonna come in here and lay down a dozen names or so. He really would be an effective bagman

I would go for one elite DE, and 2-3 really solid, lengthy CBs. And another solid QB. Everything else in 2018 will be gravy, pending what injuries, etc. we have this season.

You realize we have a 5:s: quarterback for the 2018 class, right?

We have to keep addressing the trenches; that should always be priority #1 IMO. Yes, we need a minimum of 3 cornerbacks next cycle. I wouldn't mind 2 more safeties either. I would like a minimum of 3 receivers as well. Get a tight end and a couple linebackers and everything will be an added bonus.

Would you be an effective financier is my question to you? You can have any player you want as long as you have any amount of money I ask for...

I will be rolling out my 2018 Big Board by position this week.

As far as this year besides the commits some names to know:

ASB
Derrik Allen
Houston Grffith
Bookie Radley Hiles
PJ Mustipher
Devin O'Rourke
Tyreke Johnson
Cameron McGrone
Dallas Gant
Terrance Taylor
A star WDE like KJ Henry
Malik Vann
Brian Hightower
Micah Jones
Shayne Simon
Kwantel Raines

we say this every year but after our terrible season last year and the fact that we are high on their list if not #1 ...says some things..i've bolded the ones right off the top of my head we are in their top 3ish

Tyreke Johnson

A 5-star DB with the size to play safety and the speed to play CB, and the ability to do either at an elite level?

No chance he comes to ND.

Bama will be sending over the pink slips to his brand-new 2018 Mustang GT in short order to see if he's into that type of thing.

That stuff on the USC board, is so damning, I'm not really sure how they get away with it. Pretty incredible that this is basically true for all of their players on this years squad, or at least the good ones.

Yes you are right! However, given the two loss at QB this year (Kizer and Zaire), it would be nice to add one more for depth purposes. A 3 star would be nice, the kind of guy who in an injury riddled season can run the offense and keep the team from collapsing. QB is very important overall and if we lose 1 or 2 to injury, suspension, or transfer we would find ourselves as thin as we did a few years ago.

Maybe if you spent a little more time in the recruiting threads instead of constantly making political threads you might have a gauge of who we have on our team?

Get your shit together, wyvrn...

Yes, lol, but another one. Worried about attrition, perhaps too much. Maybe we get lucky at the QB position unlike in times past and each player gets a chance to contribute.

I wasn't aware there was a quota.

See my post above for reasoning, which points out we are a QB short in case of injuries. I am well aware of our current QBs, including Mr. Book.

Keep preaching the tolerance, Wooly. It suits you.

Except you weren't actually worried about attrition, or that is what you would have said. In fact, you didn't even remember that we had already did what you were hoping for in QB depth.

There isn't a quota, but it's annoying when we have a billion politics threads on here that you are daily making new ones for every random political story you can find. You get like 5 responses and then you are off to pounding the site with your next one. Get a life.

If you were going to take an extra scholarship, it would have been this year. Next year, they should go after the best Ivy League QB at the end of the cycle. He's paying $60k per to play Ivy League, relatively like money for ND. Here's the roster if you add one a year. There might be something going on for Andrew Tovar of LA Cathddral for a PWO spot this year. He put up Nintendo #'s, has visited ND and has a 4.0+GPA

2017 - Wimbush-3, Book-4, Davis-5
2018 - Wimbush-2, Book-3, Davis-4, Jurkovec-5
2019 - Wimbush-1, Book-2, Davis-3, Jurkovec-4, JT Daniels-5
2020 - Book-1, Davis-2, Jurkovec-3, Daniels-4, Bryce Young -5
2021 - Davis-1, Jurkovec-2, Daniels-3, Young-4, Athan Kaliakmanis-5

I took the liberty of adding some good players down the line. I wouldn't burn a scholarship unless I lost 3 QB's before the start of the '19 season to the NFL and transfers/position change (reason: Phil taking over for BW when he goes to NFL instead of coming back for 5th year.)
