Tenn qb position is pretty set w/ Dobbs, then they just got a stud this year so their position isn't set to hand him the keys
UT is definitely on the upswing. I'm more optimistic than I have been in the last 10 years, and can't wait to see them deliver some ass kickin to UGA this year. I like Dobbs, but let's be honest, he's no rock star, not yet. Very smart QB, but a long way to go in the pasinig game. Also has a new OC coming in to deal with (which may be good for the young ones coming in). Definitely the QB UT needs to go with. The team does rally around him, but he's got a lot to prove this year. He's a 2013 guy, so not a big deal to Johnson.
Jennings EE, Jones, and Dormandy EE are all good gets. Jennings could be an absolute stud if he can refine his passing game. Jones got game too. Dormandy a better passer than both, but a pro style. One of those guys IMO will be gone before Johnson would ever hit campus. One of them, I can't remember is also already in trouble (criminal investigation) IIRC.
Ultimately I can see one of the freshman getting PT this year, at least situational. Probably Jennings. Dobbs, if he can stay healthy all year, should be able to fend off the youngster unless he hits a Golson patch.
All that said, I'll take Wimbush before any of the 3 above. 4 if you want to count Dobbs. I'll take MZ before Dobbs, easily. I'd also add that Johnson is on another level compared to the three youngsters. Not saying that he starts day one, but he would be in the competition year 2 (when Dobbs is moving on - assuming he stays as a 5th year).
Given ND's track record, I see Wimbush being BKs conservative choice long term even if Hunter were to come to ND. Conversely, I can see UT's situation a lot more fluid.
