Got one for my kid..and when we plugged it in....ZERO....looks like a hard drive crash. Had to call Sony their sending me a new one.

Happened to us, too. Really pissed me off. Someone who works for a gaming company assured me this is very rare, but for Southwest to say the same thing really makes me dubious. We should get our new one Monday and I'll let you know.

My kids have been so good about the situation, really proud of them and how they are "that ok dad, its not your fault!" I am going to buy them two more games just for keeping things in perspective.

I got one the night they came out. Mine works great never had a problem with it. Sony said 1% of systems had problems which seems low. I know several people with them and none of them have had problems either. Maybe just some bad luck. But I love mine.

Sorry to hear about your situation, that sucks.
I also got one Night 1 and have had no problems. I love it and highly recommend it. It however is severely lacking in games, but wait until March when the games start on fire! In the meanwhile go to the PSN store and download the free game 'Resogun', it's amazing!

Yeah Resogun is fun. I just can't play it very long I get bored. I have fun with Ghosts. I want to scoop up NBA 2K soon heard it's great.

Well I got mine from Fedex today....an empty box. They expect, after 30 minutes of gameplay, I'm going to send this back to them and wait WEEKS to get it back? What a load of bullsh!t. I am furious right now and Sony customer service representative is about to feel my wrath. Best Buy said they'd just give me my money back, so I guess that's what I'll have to do but right now I am more unhappy and this piece of junk playstation then I've been with anything for a LONG FRICKING TIME.

I told myself that I was going to wait for Infamous and The Show.
Nothing released right now interests me.

But to be honest, with no NCAA I might just pass on next-gen all together.
OR until my four year old son asks for one in a few years.

Thats pathetic. If your product fails initially and you have to send a customer a new one, the last thing that can happen is what did.

I really cannot wait to get one, however they are completely sold out in my area, and I don't mind waiting a few months to see if these failures get sorted out. I've heard under 1% failure rates which is very impressive, but when over a million are sold in one week that's still a lot of systems failing. Either way it looks super impressive, and these games coming out in '14 look sick.

I have had mine since launch night. I bought an extra controller, Madden, Battlefield 4, and AC 4. BF 4 is one of the most challenging and fun FPS games I have ever played. It is really quite incredible.

I have had zero problems. It works great. PSN+ is much improved. I am quite happy with my switch from Xbox.

If anyone wants to talk more in depth send me a message.

After my angry phone call and equally angry letter I enclosed with my broken system and sent Saturday, we got the replacement Thursday (which was slowed by no delivery New Years Day). This one works like a charm.

Still a fail w/o something else to freshen the bad taste left from the 2 previous manufacturer issues. Glad you guys finally got it all squared away tho, ya know for the kids sake.

ha..I haven't even had a chance to play. I watched him some and the graphics are cool. They did give me a whole extra free month of PS Network membership. Not much but something. I declare victory!
