It'd just be nice to get someone to 'pop'-seems like it is a waiting game to some degree. Could it be that many are waiting to see where a few of the top dogs land first?

It is such a maddening process...

I'm pretty sure Shaq, and Armstead are buddies, but I don't know much one influences the other's recruitment

eNDzone speculated that Mahone's recent tweets about an imminent commitment could have been in reference to Keivarae Russell instead of Kiel (like everyone assumed).

IIRC, Russell, Garnett, and Banner are all buddies. Would landing Russell increase our chances with Garnett?

What about the tweet he retweeted about people about to "kiel over"?

Perhaps he was just playing.

If Kiel had told Mahone that he was announcing to Notre Dame, why is he still wracking his brain over a decision based on gut feeling alone?

They said that it would be "a gut feeling", not that he would decide on a gut feeling alone. The same article that quoted the "gut feeling" comment also said that he was going to sit down with his parents and come to a decision. Either way, the author didn't know what they were talking about... just like 99% of the people trying to "break news" on Kiel's decision.

Ah. That clears some things up.

Rios was in that group. Obviously TJ posted this after he committed to UCLA. Is there reason to think he committed to UCLA to ensure he'd have a soft landing spot and is still hoping to end up at ND? Or is there another reason why Rios is still in that group?

Rios wanted to stay home.

That makes his decision to commit to UCLA make sense, and that is what I thought it was about. Just strange seeing him in that list of guys.

and i sent him a text asking him about this today...just to see..but he was very excited to be able to EE and UCLA is in his backyard...but it was the effort they put into making him feel he is a big part of their plans and not a backup guy

Russell specifically stated in the II article that he had talked to Mahone (" He's my guy")on Monday. That was the same day Mahone tweeted that he new something yall don't. He then followed it with the "Kiel" tweet to not give it away.

The theory has merit. That's why I brought it.

Thanks for clarifying.

We do? I always thought we had room for 23. But I will say that Garnett and Ekaneem are 50/50. Both are really good kids and players.

Turning Point insists that we lead for Garnett and he has some good sources but basically everyone else thinks he is Stanford bound.

I'll play:

Gunner
Westerkamp
Shumate

Then in no particular order... Neal, Garnett, and Wright

We have 6 spots so get rid of Garnett and I agree with you.

If it came down to Garnett and Ekanem for the last spot, Garnett is getting it. No way you would take a guy with a torn ACL over a 5 star OL.

True. But who here would've predicted the staff would've taken John Turner or Scott Daly over Tommy Schutt?
