-Keep it. Love the flexibility, prestige and leverage it provides. Plus, I think conference pride is kind of stupid.
2. Field Turf or Grass?
-I lean towards field turf. South Bend isn't conducive to growing grass September - November, and we'd have a consistent playing surface that could bolster a home field advantage.
3. Jumbotron?
-Pro-Jumbotron so long as it's done tastefully. Replays add to the experience IMO.

"Recruiting"

A. Shoot for the moon or limit recruiting to RKGs?
-Is there a middle ground? I'm all for taking chances and giving people the rope to hang themselves, but I don't want to see us handing out bags of cash, signing players who can't pass the clearinghouse or have violent criminal pasts.
B. Take JUCOs?
-I wouldn't mind it in theory, but the credits don't (and shouldn't) transfer which basically makes this impossible. I appreciated as a student knowing people couldn't go fill all their requirements in the summer at some local JUCO.

-He's not the best in the country, but he has my vote of confidence right now. We've seen an undefeated season, we've recruited pretty damn well considering our "aisle", the program hasn't turned into the U, and we're seeing depth and consistency start to emerge.

-USC is my enemy by birth (born in LA), and I hate them with a passion. That said, Fuck Michigan.
c. Playoffs, BCS, or other?
-Playoffs.
d. Super-conferences (good or bad?)
-Bad because they tore apart rivalries and screwed over athletes from the other sports. For football, they're good because it limits "mid majors" that have inflated records, and it makes picking a top 4 easier.
e. Scheduling (toughest possible or other?)
-Tough enough to be #1 if you're undefeated, but don't go crazy. I want a t least 3 big dogs a year, and I would like to see us play 4. That said, I'd prefer our first games be against the Rices and Temples of the world more than UT like in 2015 and 2016.

-Right now, keep him. This year was a disaster, but I don't know that I put it all on the coach. He's had good years, his players overachieve, and he's pulled in some decent recruits lately. I wouldn't cry if he left, but I don't see a strong replacement candidate realistically out there.

-I'd like to see a resolution where athletes get additional benefits and compensation, but I don't think it should be a free market model where performance and individual demand drive that compensation structure.

A. Shoot for the moon or limit recruiting to RKGs? -- gotta be both ... need to take moonshots to get some stars, but can't sacrifice depth and need role players/situational players anyway.
B. Take JUCOs? -- only if they have strong academic records, which will be rare.

Pay student-athletes? -- I'm open to it ... the current system is a travesty but I could envision numerous solutions besides paying players ... a better solution would be reducing the amount of time and effort they put into preparation so they could properly be considered amateur athletes who are adequately compensated by their scholarships, but as long as they are essentially football players first and students second some sort of systemic change is necessary.

2. WHATEVER SURFACE YOU PRACTICE ON YOU SHOULD PLAY ON AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN. So in this case... turf.
3. Duh.

A. Depends on the kid. In general, should recruit as many Midwest or Mid-Atlantic or other non-"traditional" area kids as you can (will be harder with a potentially dominant recruiting force in James Franklin) with as little emphasis on California and the deep south as possible. Fill your class with "RKGs" who want to be at ND while oversigning your reach players (i.e. anyone with a red flag should be on top of a solid base of "RKGs" who meet your need #s).
B. No JUCOs unless the University changes some policies... but it would be great if they changed the policies to make this possible for some rare kids; yes to oversigning by 2-3 players each year.

a. Love Kelly.
b. Michigan, followed by Michigan, with Michigan coming in a close third.
c. Needs to be an 8 team playoff.
d. No opinion. Think conference talk is sort of irrelevant.
e. Need to dumb down scheduling. Compare what Weis got to play from '06 onward to what Kelly has to beat and it's ridiculous. Compare our schedule to your average Big Ten team like Ohio State What has made our schedule so insane is Stanford getting good, coupled with unnecessary series with teams like ASU and Oklahoma/Texas. If we continue to remain independent, we should schedule on top of our 5 ACC games:
-Stanford, USC, Navy
-Purdue (or a rotating Big Ten team that isn't Michigan, like Northwestern or Indiana)
-Two non-power conference schools
-Shamrock series game (ideally against a BYU caliber team)

I. Keep Brey unless you're willing to go all-in for basketball.
II. I'd open up student athletes to the Olympic Model. I would not make them employees of the school.
