Not sure if this belongs here or in the "What are you watching?" thread, but anybody watch any League of Legends?

Right now is the mid season world tournament. The team from America just took out the defending world champs from China in the semifinals. This is probably the best performance by any American team in the history of LoL.

Also the matches had a peak live viewership of over 1.3 million excluding China. The game just keeps exploding.

Not sure if I mentioned it here or not, but we actually started League of Legends as a state sanctioned high school competition this year, I coached my high school's inaugural team in League and Rocket League. Made it to state (duh) but didn't get the rings this year.

We even had some college recruiters start reaching out to us about players. I only got tied into a few months back but it has been eye opening.

but he's not on the Mount Rushmore of games because you people are insane.

Which system would you put Zelda on the Mt. Rushmore of? I've never played any Zelda other than the one on super nintendo. It's pretty fun and well made for how old it is.

Ocarina of Time usually gets the most love, so I'd go with that. Link to the Past is pretty good though.

I’ve never played a Zelda game, and I’m triggered by Koon referring to Link as “Zelda”

Is that the one with the haunt story to it?? I still remember my college buddies telling me about some haunted Zelda game back in college like ten years before it became a thing... pretty sure it's not a Mandela Effect thing either, idk...

So Dead Cells has been interesting... it's fun but I've noticed a few things that frustrate. You die, you start from scratch... now it is claimed you can progressively get stronger and such as you go but it doesn't really seem that way. You lose most everything upon death. Also the little you do hold onto doesn't make THAT much of a difference imo. It also feels that as you get further into the game and slowly unlock things that don't reset upon death the enemies get stronger and stronger with each play through. I'm even starting to see enemies in the first level that used to not show until much later... so if that's the case what's the point of leveling? Lastly this game goes from solid challenge/fun to just plain absurd beyond belief once you pass the bridge... it's quite a harsh and sudden jump.

Any tips would be welcome because it's a fun game but restarting after every death is starting to wear me down a bit...

Pick a build type and stick with it. Survival is by far the strongest; stacking green scrolls with a good green (or legendary/colorless) weapon is the easiest way to progress. A Tactics build with a solid ranged weapon is also good. Brutality builds are really challenging, and you should avoid them for now. This guide goes into greater detail about these subjects.

For mutations, I always picked YOLO, Dead Inside and Necromancy. Gives you a ton of sustain for full clears.

Each time you begin a run, you ought to do so with a particular goal in the mind. Are you farming cells for the Forge? Buying the Hunter's Grenade to force a certain weapon schematic to drop? Etc. Early on, you ought to be trying to get all the runes so that the entire map is unlocked for you. This also has the helpful side benefit of granting you access to a bunch of new areas in the first few biomes which should allow you to consistently come out of them stronger than before.

I got super far with an explosive bow... I'd love to get is back at some point. Is it totally random? Anything I can do to start with better gear?

Once you purchase the relevant upgrades, you'll always start with a random melee and ranged weapon from the pool of items you've unlocked. I tried not to unlock anything I wouldn't want to actually use since they just dilute your pool and decrease the chances you'll get offered something useful.

There are two other upgrades--Restock and Merchandise Categories--that allow you to spend gold in order to look for specific items (the former rerolls everything on offer in a specific store, and the latter allow you to pick which sort of item you want the merchant to offer you, tripling your odds of seeing what you want).

Been playing EU4, expanding the borders of Spain throughout the world. Saved the HRE from the Protestant League, am incorporating France into the Empire, and about to absorb the last of the Aztecs & Incas. Next up: the Ottomans

hmmm,... I've unlocked stuff but have never had the option to get anything but base sword/bow/shield at the beginning...

They're both upgrades that you can purchase from the Collector. "Random Melee Weapon" and "Random Starting Bow" both cost 65 cells a piece. Once you purchase them, you'll be offered a random weapon from your pool instead of the garbage starting weapons.

... I've done all this... it's still just default. I'll keep messing with it though, I'm clearly missing a piece.

I've noticed the hanging jars are filling up,.. but nothing changes with the default accessibility...

Dead Cells:

Made it to the clock tower... I've come to realize I really needs all the runes. The wall crawling one especially. Having a hard time with that. Also, wish you could upgrade mutations the way you can gear... necromancy would be much better if leveled up.

That's always the last one I grab, since it's way more powerful once you've got 10-15 green scrolls.

Interesting. As I recall, everyone hated Watchdogs and thought 2 was a big improvement.

I thought it was an improvement, absolutely. The stealth was better done imo, but I just liked 1 more. I thought in 2 the secondary characters didn't make enough sense in the world. I also liked the challenge in 1 of I could shoot through this super easy, but I won't.

All the recent Witcher 3 talk gave me the itch to play again. My last run was a New Game + on Death March. Now I'm working on a fresh Death March playthrough for the added challenge. Focused on small optimizations like the ideal time to start investing in Alchemy instead of Combat, ensuring I get mutagens off the first Water Hag, Ekimarra and Ekhidna I fight for early decoction crafting, etc.

Very enjoyable. I love this game.

Interested in a new challenge once I get through 'God of War'
