What video game are you playing?

Lately I've still been playing a lot of SWG on the Legends server. I sprung a leak with my liquid cooled CPU loop though, and it pissed all over my video card. I'm waiting to hear back from the manufacturer because the first item was still under warranty...no idea if they're going to compensate me for the video card (Probably not).

I picked up that newer Conan survival game on a Steam sale awhile back. It felt a LOT like Ark like my buddy said, so far not impressed. The UI/leveling feels every bit like Ark, as does the combat and models. It's like Ark without the dinosaurs basically, but set in a cooler universe...with Wheels of Pain, and boobs. Doesn't have much else going for it right now.

Before that I fired up some older games, Imperialism and Medieval 2: Total War. I'm also taking a break from Clash on mobile. Picked up this little game/novel called Paladins. Plays a lot like the old "choose your own adventure" books growing up, kind of a nice little time waster before bed.

KOTOR? I liked the original Dragon's Age quite a bit, I need to revisit that one. I wanted to check out Inquisition, but Steam didn't have it available last I checked. Looks like I need to pass on it.

No Jade Empire? I thought that was an amazing game.

The cinematic trailer for AC Origins finally dropped yesterday... Ubisoft is going to get my money again... dammit

I can guess a large portion of this new trilogy's plot just based on history haha:

Cleopatra fights for control of Egypt, then Caesar steps in. You start working for Caesar to help him consolidate his power, and a twist ends up being that you're orchestrating everything so that he can marry Cleopatra and rule Egypt.

BIG TWIST: Caesar is actually a pre-Templar, and in the second or third game, you end up working for the pre-Assassins when you realize Caesar is bad, as are his pre-Templar ideologies. You help orchestrate Caesar's assassination with Brutus and the other pre-Assassins. Brutus leads the group-stabbing with his family's famous armor concealed under his senator's attire.

Cleopatra then enlists your help, along with Mark Antony, to take control from Caesar's pre-Templar adopted son and first Roman Emperor, Octavian.

You then find out that Octavian isn't so bad, and isn't a pre-Templar after all, and start working for him, assassinating Mark Antony, framing it as a suicide, and then assassinating Cleopatra, disguising it as suicide-by-snake.

Bam I just wrote the whole trilogy for Ubisoft.

Dragon Age Origins was really fun i enjoyed it and played it though multiple times with different characters

I am 100% on board for this as long as they give me a game where the Map is that northern Mediterranean sea which encompasses all of Italy and Greece, I want to be able to sail the Mediterranean and stop and eat pizza in Neaplois, and then go fishing in the bay of Palermo. And then sail over to Santorini and eat some apochti and hummus and fight on the side of an extinct volcano. Is that too much to ask?

New FIFA Manager Mode looks good... added new transfer negotiations, numerous cut scenes, press conferences, Ballon D'Or, U20 squads and games... Galaxy also have Stub Hub in the game, which is crazy to me that LAG got their park in before Celtic but it's all good.

My hype train is officially rollin... one month away bhoys.

I have no problem getting fanboy over this. Except for the obvious CD Project Red, Bethesda is the probably the best possible company to do justice. I do worry that the power fantasy aspects will be too much for ASoIaF, but still... Mother F*cking Kings Landing in a Bethesda game.

You know, the more I think about this, the less sense it makes to me. I'm at 100% hype for the world but 0% hype for the story. Martin's history is too fully-formed for an open world video game to tell a story worth telling. We pretty much know the entire history of Westeros from Aegon's conquest through the events of the books and TV show, which is less than 400 years later. Unless we go way back in time, but I don't see them doing a GoT game without Targaryens.

Recently picked up NHL 95 and Madden 94 CIB with team insert sheets and everything for 20 bucks... Still need Bill Walsh, NCAA Basketball, Pilotwings and Castlevania IV to make my SNES collection passable...

Totally missed this but apparently Red Dead 2 was pushed out to next year. It was originally slated for this fall. I very much welcome the change since Battlefront 2 is also due in the fall and this will space things out nicely.

My local Toys R Us is selling copies of FIFA 18 early for an extra fee... I got all excited when I saw it on display just now, the guy who got it out of the glass case took me to their far side checkout that looks like it hasn't been used in years and tried to get me to pay 80 bucks for it. When I was like, "excuse me" he quickly said, wait never-mind, this game isn't even out yet.... it was the last one in the display case so obviously they've been moving them...
