1.) I vaguely even knew there were different endings, but looking at it I guess the endings vary quite a bit. I got the Witcher ending so when I checked in last night I had just picked up the Sword and met the Drawfs... I thought there might be a bit more but I only needed literally 30 seconds more or such to end the game.
2.) I picked Cerys, I was curious what a Scottish/Nordic warrior people would look like with a female ruler... lol
There's a good ending, a sad ending, and a
terrible ending. One of my few complaints with the game is that it sort of pushes the standard liberal "follow your heart" bullshit as the right way to play Geralt, instead of giving you more nuanced decisions. For instance, installing Ciri as the new empress should be a great ending. The woman you've raised as a daughter is now the most powerful monarch in the world. But because Ciri wants to run off and be a Witcher, that's the "sad" ending, greater good be damned...
I've done both, and choosing Cerys always seems to be the better choice.
Also, how stupid was Dykstra at the end there??? Dude could have had it all.
Agreed. Another minor quibble with the plot. Throughout the whole game, Dykstra is portrayed as this Machiavellian master-politician and spy. But at the end he decides to betray Geralt and attack with a small band of thugs, despite having seen Geralt cut his way through far larger and better armed groups of soldiers first-hand? He deserved a better ending.
