The gimmick of The Crew 2 is that you get to use all different types of vehicles... boats, street cars, track cars, planes, helicopters, off-road cars, dirt bikes.

Which is... cool, I guess? The plane dynamics look hella arcadey.

That was done on purpose. They were simply introducing those 3 people who are going to be doing a live stream 30 min gameplay demo after the ubisoft conf ends. They were telling the public who is watching so they stick around at the end of the show to watch the stream.

If Ubisoft just took the concept of sailing/pirating/whaling in Assassin's Creed 3 and made it the whole game it'd be cool. So hopefully this is what that is. (I'm not watching just going by your comments.)

Never played past AC3 but the developer specifically referenced Black Flag as the underpinnings.

The Pirate game is basically just the boat warefare from AC 4. The assets and systems look identical, except it looks far more polished and elaborated on. Looks interesting.

I was really expecting a more serious tone for the Far Cry 5 presentation. It was kinda wacky and almost forced comedic violence. I'm kinda put off by it.

The AC developer just showed the map.... holy crap it is huge.... like witcher 3 size if not bigger. And so far from what I'm seeing the world is not empty. I have to say its impressive.

I am STOKED for this game! I had such a blast with the new Wolfenstein that was released a few years ago. I really can't stand FPS' unless they have a more arcade play style. For example, I dislike COD and Battlefield, but I loved the new Wolfenstein and the new Doom. God, Doom was sick!

Well, that seems to be the style that Far Cry has been moving towards in recent games. Not necessarily about how intriguing the story is, but more about crazy, random moments a person can create in the open world.

The highlights for me are: new Pokemon RPG is in development for Switch, Mario Odyssey looks amazing and ridiculous all at the same time, rocket league is coming to switch with cross platform play. Biggest disappointment was that there was no announcement or talk of a new Smash Bros game for Switch yet.
