Has anyone ever been to the Walmart in Michigan City? I stopped there once while traveling. It was a trashy human version of the Star Wars cantina. Freakiest trashiest Walmart I've ever seen.

"Where's my boy?!?!" syndrome in movies and TV shows. It's really bad on the walking dead, where characters will shout about saving their children when they have zero capacity to actually do so in a dangerous situation. So naturally, they go hard charging into danger themselves and get hurt or killed, or get someone else hurt or killed, for no gain at all. Currently watching Hotel Mumbai and it's bad here too.

Semester starts Monday... as in less than two business days from now Monday. I've encountered numerous irate students waiting until now to try and get holds lifted, registration processed etc which is enough of an eyeroll. Thing is, of course it's everyone else's fault that they can't take classes or have everything that usually takes weeks for responsible students to get done, have done for them in literally hours. I've seen complaints filed against advisors, deans, chairs and whole departments in the last week because, "They won't help me!!" How about helping yourself and stop procrastinating so damn much, or at least not acting like an entitled brat and trying to get someone fired because you fucked up.

It's gotta be the same at every school in the country lol. College kids are gonna do college kid things.

Luckily, the whole university is pretty much on the same page when it comes to the 'problem' kids and parents... if you were procrastinating, and should have had your fines/fees paid a long time ago, or other business handled, no one is throwing anyone else under the bus. We just let them know that they should have taken care of their issues before the first Monday of the semester ("We're open all summer!"), and then hook them up by temporarily lifting holds so they can at least start the semester.

Then the hold gets reapplied, and we don't hear from them until they want to graduate and get their degree... then they're mad all over again about the same fines they refused to pay three years prior lol.

Don't you guys realize that these kids have much more important things to do during the summer than deal with prepping for school.

1. Sleep in until noon.
2. Spend the next four hours texting with friends trying to decide what to do that night.
3. Go to the fridge and mumble about nothing to eat.
4. Yell to know one on particular that your heading to McDonalds.
5. Girls - Upon returning home try to decide what to wear that night then start texting your friends that you don't have a thing to wear. Guys - Hit the couch and start playing video games.
6. Take a nap.
7. Head out around 10:00.
8. Roll in between 2:00 & 5:00 AM. Time depends on if the girls found some cute guy to buy them drinks or the guy finds a chick he thinks he has a chance to nail that night.
9. Rinse & repeat.

I ordered a southwest salad from McDonalds online for curbside pickup. Kid comes out and says they are out of southwest dressing and wants to know if I want ranch instead. I say "No Thanks" and ask for a refund. Just a minute later he returns with the salad and not just one packet, but two packets of southwest dressing!

Ha, my son and I have a weekly routine where we head out to McDonalds on Saturday mornings and bring home breakfast for the family. Last Saturday, they didn't have anything prepared, I guess, so they told me to pull over into 'Spot #1' to wait for our order.

There was a big ass truck in 'Spot #1', parked half into 'Spot 2' with the ass end way over the line. Nobody can use 'Spot #2' now, unless it's one of those matchbox smart cars.

Me: "There's a truck in that spot, and he's blocking the other spot, too."

Drive-Thru Worker: "Can you try to squeeze into spot 2?"

Me: "My SUV is not going to fit into that spot."

Worker: "Can you just try, though? We need to keep the line moving."

Me: "I can assure you that I will not fit there. Can I just pull up?"

Worker: [looks very confused, indecisive] "I better get my manager"

Ridiculous. Probably speaks more to the workplace culture that such a simple solution, albeit against "protocol," has to be approved through the manager.

Not hard to say, "Hey Billy, when those hash browns finish up, the second wait order is on the curb ahead. Black SUV."

"got it, thanks Jack."

I hate to be put in the penalty box. The whole idea behind fast food is no waiting. I knew a guy that was in a hurry. Stopped at McDonalds to get himself and his kids a bite on the way to some event. He's almost out of the parking lot when he notices his order is wrong. He goes back around and sees a long line at the drive through so he pulls directly up to the window. He tells the clerk what's wrong and they tell him to pull into the penalty box. He refuses and tells them he wants a refund or fix his order right now. The clerk starts to argue, so he puts his car in park and tells the clerk "Your drive through is now shutdown". Not only did he get his order right away, they gave him a handful of coupons for free meals.

It perfectly illustrates what we get in an assembly-line work environment. The workers don't maintain ownership over the delivered product, they are given a single assignment and don't know how to respond to things outside their domain.

The modern work environment needs major revamping

LOL wasn't me, but I've thought of that story many a time.

I usually avoid McD's, but they do have a decent SW salad I get for lunch every once in a while.

"Fresh McDonald's Breakfast Sandwiches Are Really Good" is a hill that I am absolutely willing to die on.

Plus, my son loves their breakfast burritos and hash browns.

Hardee's breakfast sandwiches are the best.

The sausage burrito is fine for the price too.

I do like their sausage Mcmuffin with a hash-brown... but I try to avoid it on the reg as it's a straight fat bomb on a bun. I can't stand their eggs though... worse than discount buffet eggs... lol

I can't choke down an egg mcmuffin... it's just one of those things, M&Ms, Hersey Bars, Micheladas, Egg McMuffins, just a few things that everyone else seems to love that would be on my "make this fool talk" torture food list.

This is crazy. A youth football program has a rule a team can't score more than 30 points, but that's not what's crazy. The HC of the team that won by more than 30 is being suspended for two game and fined $500. WTF?! How in the world can a youth league fine a coach like that? I wonder if he signed some contract with that provision?

Super Bowl champion blasts youth football league after coach faces $500 fine, suspension over big victory

Two-time Super Bowl-winning wide receiver Torrey Smith tweeted his frustrations Saturday with a Pennsylvania youth football league that allegedly fined and suspended a coach over a team's big victory.

Smith, who retired from the NFL this season, tweeted the Keystone State Youth Football league, based in Philadelphia, was going to suspend a coach for two games and fine him $500 because the team won a game, 36-0. Smith said the league disciplines the coach if their team wins by more than 30 points.

“Today’s story of ‘We are building weak children," Smith wrote. “The youth football team in my wife’s hometown had a game today, they won 36-0. They don’t allow you to win by 31 without some type of punishment. The head coach is now suspended for 2 games and fined $500. ARE YOU KIDING [sic] ME?”

He then added: “@YouthKeystone is trippin!

“1. Kids need to learn how to deal with failure. Don’t want to get smashed? Play better.

“2. Life doesn’t let up. When it rains it pours.

“3. The other kids can’t give their all because there is a rule. ‘Work hard but not too hard’ that’s stupid.

“4. It’s hard to find youth coaches as is but you consider fining a coach $500 an appropriate punishment?

“5. If you truly want to have a slaughter rule simply stop the game. How do you coach or play knowing that you can’t score? That’s just stupid.”

The coach was identified as Kyle Williams, according to NBC Philadelphia. He is also Smith’s brother-in-law. Williams, who coaches the Conshohocken Golden Bears, told the station that the league’s rules prevent a team from scoring more than 30 points.

“Less than two minutes left I called a timeout because I wanted to pull the starters off the field,” he told NBC Philadelphia. “I put kids in there who normally never played.”

However, a 5-year-old player on his team scored toward the end of the game even though Williams said he ran down the sideline yelling at the child to fall down and not score.

The president of Williams’ team told the station that it is possible Williams could face punishment when he goes to a hearing in the coming weeks and said the league doesn't condone the coach’s choice to run the play.

I’ve never found a main market breakfast burrito I’ve enjoyed. There’s a small chain in so cal called Tom’s that makes killer breakfast burritos and since moving away my wife has perfected one that would blow your mind. Those two together killed a lot of breakfast burritos for me. I do like Carl’s/Hardees Breakfast Burger when short of time...
