After watching them yesterday I see a 45-10 score is.very feasible. We dominate the lines again.

Where does this reverance for Virgina come from? In 2011 they posted their best showing under London at 8-5. Sub .500 every other year including 5-7 last year and 2-10 the year before. This is a team we should win by 4 TDs and have the starters out by the 3rd quarter.

The best thing I have heard about Virginia is this:
"They have an aggressive defense and no ability to counterpunch".

Even on the road this should be a comfortable win. They run power sets with multiple TEs for runs and spread formations for passes. They became extremely predictable after the middle of the fire half. Their OL struggled in pass protection and also struggled in the run.. if we dominate the lines again this should be a fairly comfortable win.

Going back to 1989 for my final score prediction. The only other time the Irish played the Cavs, it was a 36-13 ND win. So, that's my prediction... 36-13

31-10

Virginia scores all 10 points in second half against 2nd string. We control every aspect of game again. Zaire 300+ with 2 TD's to Fuller and Josh Adams with a breakout performance!

I don't agree that UVA is better than Texas. I think we made Texas look foolish, more than they did themselves. UT definitely has a better defense, as we just saw UVA's defense get owned by a true freshman QB. Their QB is pretty solid, but they have very little in terms of distributing weapons. Good RB from what I hear, but the offensive line isn't good. UCLA embarrassed them on both fronts, and I expect us to do the same.

This team has the leadership to avoid slow starts. They know they need to finish this quickly and kill UVA's spirit so they can ice the game fast and focus on Tech. Malik should have no problem moving the ball. UVA's got a few good pieces in Blanding and Brown on D, but they do not a defense make. We had a few good pieces late last year in Jaylon and Luke still playing, but that got us nowhere.

ND 45 UVA 17

I will go off the script and say ND jumps them early. 21-3 after the first quarter. Defense scores twice in the first half for a 31-10 lead at halftime. Adams and Williams get a ton of carries in the 2nd half which leads to 3 more scores wearng down the Cavs D. 52-23 final score.

I think I've come to a very serious realization in the past few years.

If I don't talk shit about the opposition, we win.

It's really hard and is a very strict rule. Like, I can't even joke.

So, 38-14 Irish.

I think we score 38 our first four games.

Two comments from UVA fan sites:

1). Maybe if their starting 22 didn't make the trip we'd have a bit of a chance. {Now THAT's IE style pessimism prior to this post-Texas moment!};

2). Note to Notre Dame: The Pope has declared 2015 The Year of Holy Mercy. Time to get on board!

Those two are semi-hilariously over-the-top, but methinks there's not much optimism in Wahoo-land.

Still ND: SHOW UP TO PLAY!!!

I'll be disappointed if we don't win by around 3 touchdowns. I know it's on the road but we are far more talented with far more depth than Virginia.

I want to see us come out and be the aggressor and hit them in the mouth over and over again. I know we don't have TF this season but I want to see us pound the rock and let the OL set the tone.

I don't think this is an ND team that will feel any hangover effects (at least not at this point). Rather than satisfied, they will be even more hungry for success after their performance against Texas.

ND should have put up a 50-spot on Texas, if not for some first-game sloppiness. And that's amazing.

If UVA is better than Texas offensively and can help out their defense even a little bit, I think ND wins 38-17. If ND's offense avoids poorly-timed sloppiness, and UVA's offensed/defense don't do anything to compliment eachother, I think ND wins 52-20 (the extra scores allow UVA more garbage time to salvage another score).

You know, I know the logic of sandwiching the effect of a big win, and a big game on the in-between contest, and I know how important the position by position comparisons are.

But two things :

Attitude and mission; this team kicked the dog when it was down but not dead. That is the first time I have seen a Notre Dame team do that in like, what? 20-ish years?

The three UVA assistants. We know them, and the staff will exploit them. Like the best in precision manipulation! Two of the guys, are just well known and that suffices; but blitz-happy Jon Tenuta? He will be owned by the offensive brain behind ND's offense.

It is going to get ugly!

Even if UVA's offense is better than Texas', it won't matter, UVA will not have time to score, because ND will be busy spending all the time the whole game scoring!

The only question is how many points can ND score?

Flat out, and OTR.

But the most important point is to get a lot of quality playing time for the bench, and avoid injuries so the Irish go into the 'gauntlet' as healthy as possible.

Notre Dame starts hot and takes a 21-6 lead into the half. Virginia can't complete two passes in a row until the 3rd quarter where they cut the lead to 8 but never get closer.

Fuller adds 2 more TDs to his season total and Zaire throws another to Smythe. Dexter Williams and Zaire add a rushing TD. Second team defense gives up a TD in the 4th.

Zaire 22-29 for 320 and 3 TDs. 6 rushes for 44 yds and a TD. #HeiZman

Notre Dame 38 Virginia 20
