You know, I know the logic of sandwiching the effect of a big win, and a big game on the in-between contest, and I know how important the position by position comparisons are.
But two things :
Attitude and mission; this team kicked the dog when it was down but not dead. That is the first time I have seen a Notre Dame team do that in like, what? 20-ish years?
The three UVA assistants. We know them, and the staff will exploit them. Like the best in precision manipulation! Two of the guys, are just well known and that suffices; but blitz-happy Jon Tenuta? He will be owned by the offensive brain behind ND's offense.
It is going to get ugly!
Even if UVA's offense is better than Texas', it won't matter, UVA will not have time to score, because ND will be busy spending all the time the whole game scoring!
The only question is how many points can ND score?
Flat out, and OTR.
But the most important point is to get a lot of quality playing time for the bench, and avoid injuries so the Irish go into the 'gauntlet' as healthy as possible.
