I can understand people not being into drugs. I can understand people not being into alcohol. It's hard for me to understand people who drink regularly but say they aren't at all interested in weed and wouldn't try it even if it was legal. Weed, especially from a vape, is as close to a perfect recreational drug there is. I always think of this scene (sorry can't embed from phone):

I have similar feelings. The legality aspect turns people off, but from experience, alcohol has gotten me in way more trouble with the law than weed ever could.

I don't know enough about the different ways to partake of marijuana to articulate this with 100% accuracy, but a few years ago, while working part-time as a local crew guy for concerts that would come to town, we met a roadie that kept hitting a vape pen.

At the time, we had no idea what it was, and had no idea where the weed we kept smelling was coming from. We started talking about "someone's out here on stage smoking some good stuff," "must be a one-hitter somewhere," etc. and the roadie started laughing and was like "this is how I keep it on the down low. People smell it, but they never know who it is."

He then pulled his pen out, and proceeded to teach us of the mythical oil that you could burn via electricity. This was futuristic stuff back in 2009. He explained that he was from Cali, and that they were mostly using pens to smoke out there at the time, and the best weed came in thise tiny round plastic containers in the form of wax or oil. He told us that it would make its way "mainstream" in the midwest soon, and hooked up one of my buddies with some spare supplies that he had for free.

Roadies are so hit and miss, but that dude was cool. He could have ignored us, or told us to eff off and not worry about his weed, but instead, he educated us and then hooked us up with some Cali supplies in exchange for a good day of work from the local guys.

I like to keep my lungs clean and believe this is the best 'method of transport' into my bloodstream. Not everyone responds to edibles but I certainly do. 10-15mg in any form - hard candy, cookie, etc and I've reached an optimal head space. I don't like venturing much further because I'm old, have kids, responsibilities, etc.

Same reason I no longer throw shots or have more than 3 drinks in a sitting (outside of the once in a blue moon sitting). I like a comfortable warm feeling.

If I'm going outdoors on a hike, walk, bike, etc. there is almost nothing better than a quick pull from the vape pen. It just relaxes me and allows me not to focus on the urgency of each day.

I'm one of the people who believe marijuana can be enjoyed responsibly by many (not all). I don't believe it should be legal for anyone under 21 and I do believe parents should adhere to very strict measures to ensure their children have no opportunity to ingest.

When I was young, I drank b/c it was an excuse to hang out with friends and/or hit on women in a manner that doesn't seem to be acceptable in a sober world. In moderation, I had a good time with booze growing up (To be honest, I had some great times filthy drunk too).

Weed had the opposite affect on me. I hated socializing stoned and preferred being alone. I can't tell you that I really ever enjoyed my minimal use of weed.

So I guess my drug of choice was largely dependent on what I wanted to do - going out it was booze, and I never felt a desire to smoke if I stayed in.

Now that I'm an old fuck, my drug of choice is coffee and booze. I get why most of my friends still smoke in their spare time, but I still have no desire to smoke even if I'm relaxing at home.

It depends on how you define "drink regularly." I drink beer on the weekends and when I'm watching sports because I like beer. I don't drink it because it's a "recreational drug." People who get wasted for the sake of getting wasted, I agree with you.

Obviously if you try it and it's not your buzz, that's fine. I'm more talking about people who say they don't know why someone would smoke when they drink.

I like beer and liquor because I like the taste, but I think the majority of people (including me) also enjoy the heady buzz. It's not necessarily getting trashed but I would say most people who drink one or two beers do it for the mild alcohol effects as well as the taste.

What are everyone's favorite ways to smoke?

Blunt- All day, my favorite. Love the smaller flavored wraps.
Pipe- Tough to beat the economy most of the time.
Bong- Depends on the bong, but still great.
....
....
Joint- Waste too much weed for too little impact.

Never tried edibles (actually like the process, time, etc. of smoking) but I have some tremendous gravity bong stories.

Don't like edibles, only grav bong experience I have was iffy.

But I usually use bowls if I'm by myself, and bongs/bubblers if I'm in a group and blunts/joints if i'm at a party

Really? They've came a really long way in the non-alcoholic beer selection. There's even craft choices now. Since it has nothing to do with the buzz for you, I'm sure you drink these all the time. What's your favorite?
