USC Recruiting Weekend

Dunno if this is the right place to ask, But it has to do with the recruit too, how was the crowd atmosphere last night? I remember during a commercial i saw the entrence at Clemson ad thought holy hell, what kid wouldnt wanna be at that game

I was at last night's game, and the crowd was definitely loud.

It was really loud. The 4th quarter sack by Tuitt was the loudest the stadium has got in a long time, years.

I don't know, the Stanford game last year was unreal. But it was definitely a great atmosphere.

Yeah I was at the Stanford game last year too. Dead quiet when the ref came back out to the field and absolutely erupted when he made the announcement. Best game I ever went to.

It could've been louder from start to finish if ya ask me. Fourth quarter was definitely loud and intense though. The beginning, everyone seemed to be on edge and nervous. Seemed extra quiet where I was for awhile.

Yeah what a dissapointing weekend. We only landed 1 commitment and lead for multiple elite guys and improved our position with multiple 5 guys.

The thinking has been he would commit on the spot. This may actually hold him back from getting an offer for a while because there are presumably RBs we have higher and the 2015 class won't be very large

The elite guys we lead for is Hoge and Cornell. I would consider Luatua and Watkins very good but not elite. You did list other elite guys but it's not known for sure we lead for them

In my opinion this weekend was a success already, i have a great feeling ND lands at least 3 of these guys

With the way the updates went with most of our visitors, it wouldn't surprise me if atleast 6 joined the class.

Peyton Hendrix- came away as his leader, decision could come soon, said he would head home and talk to his parents about his recruitment.

Nick Watkins- we have long been the presumed leader, and with his visit, he pretty much came out a said we are his favourite

JuJu- loved his visit, combo of academics and athletics, holds high spiritual/religious values, and his mom loved ND too, and we usually do well with mom on our side. Lol

Tyler Luatua- again, we've been the presumed favourite. good amount of people are surprised he didn't pull the trigger this weekend, but it'll happen

Matt Elam- made a HUGE impression with him this weekend, and Wiltfong CB'ed him to ND so that's good enough for me lol

Drue Tranquill- everything has been trending ND's way for Drue the last few weeks, it'll get done soon enough

I just can't see us landing Bo. However, we could seriously have a chance at landing all of those other 9 guys(I add quick and Elam). Does anyone know how large the class could be? I'd be in favor of dropping Kendall Moore if it opened up room for Morgan. Tranquill we'd take because of depth issues if we don't land Morgan. Hendrix may want to come with Watkins, and it'd be hard to turn that down. And luatua, Elam, quick, mama, and juju are must takes IMO(luatua isn't necessarily a MUST take, but he will probably commit before the train gets full.

Add Golson back into the equation, and 5th year seniors. Currently, I see only Lombard and Collinsworth coming back. Moore is a wildcard right now.

75+3=78.

That would leave 7 total spots left.

But of course, transfers, medicals, and early draft entries (cough cough Tuitt) could change that number.

So something to I've kind of picked up on from a few of the interviews. It doesn't sound like the staff was all that concerned or even trying to reay gain verbal commits last weekend. Holmes specifically mentioned how fun the visit was because there was no pressure to commit and not much recruiting talk at all. And Quick said that the only recruiting talk he had was when he first got to campus and Kelly sat down with him. Kelly told him how important he was and how they'd use him (watch TJ) but that would be the only recruiting they'd be talking about. The visit was more about him having fun and enjoying the weekend. Maybe we werent going for the commits and setting the stage for later.

Makes sense. A commitment in mid-October didn't fit into the timetable set by most of this weekend's visitors. No need to pressure a kid when it doesn't fit into his stated timetable.
